What's sad is that 90% of the ppl who defend S-E and say they will pay are max lvl 20-30. They haven't even experienced the majority of the "new content" that they preach time and again. It's the same people who have their wives and parents playing too, causing any potential raid to take 90 times longer than it should due to carrying bads.

Anyway...i agree with Picard and Moose posts. IMO it'sa gamble that really might cause the game a second death regardless of how good it is at PS3 release...because those leaving now might just not come back...the market is packed with games superior in quality to FFXIV...and no one will just play another game "while waiting 2.0".

I'm really hoping this 1.19 is haunting Yoshida and giving him nightmares in his 3hrs of sleep...because it was an overall disaster followed by the tremendous unfortunate announcement of they start billing soon. This annoucement mainly cut the quitting plans of many players that aren't enjoying the game ATM from "PS3 release" to 1 month.

IMO it might be the first time this dev team is REALLY put against the wall...the next patch (which might be the last one before they start billing) will really have an all-or-nothing impact...they MUST do it right this time...do it FAST and do it RIGHT.

I did my part. Since 1.18 i've been tossing them day after day feedback, suggestions and warnings regarding nearly every aspect of the game...but now it's like those last 5 minutes of soccer, when you already changed players, changed strategies, changed everything...there is nothing left to do other than sit, wait and pray for the best to happen since it's now up to those playing to win or lose.



So...at least we will have halloween before billing start! ^^::

Your negative energy you give off probably does far worse than any payment SE asks of you for a product you've been playing free for a year. Eleven months (with the free month) of a $12.95 subscription fee you didn't pay is $142.45, thats pretty generous by itself let alone all the hard work they are doing and have planned for this game's future. You either like the game or you don't. Keep playing or quit, simple as that, you don't need to try dragging people out the door with you so you don't feel alone.

its kind of off subject but i find it to be more common for family players to suck and cause everyone else frustration all because they think playing together is cute.... thats all fine and dandy but stay away from endgame pls.

PS: i just had a thought. this game started development in 2005? and its not expected to be relatively finished until 2013.
regardless of how you look at it, it technically is taking them about 9 years to release a full product. they probably just should have spent all this time and money remaking VII to shut everyone up (including me XD) and re-top the video game industry

well then again, they probably wouldnt have learned any lessons if they took the safe rout.

Like I've said before.
It won't even matter if there's only one subscriber. Square is going to work on this game till 2.0 and beyond regardless of how much they make from it this year or how few people play it.

A lack of subscribers isn't going to kill this game. Especially when they already went over a full year without anything more than donations for the quake.

The only thing that could kill the game at this point would be if Square itself went under. It can't be a sinking ship unless the ship can sink. All this talk of doom and gloom can't really go anywhere sense the game could have no subscribers and it will still develop into 2.0. Square has invested far too much to give up on it now.
