I know that doing less than you can do may hurt your ego, but sometimes doing too much can be even worse than doing too little.

I see your point, but as people have already mentioned, it wouldn't help much just sitting there and heal either, simply because they would still chase me, of course not much as me dpsing them and healing at the same time.

However when I level up a new character I wanna know and learn about the new spells and adjust myself to the higher level healing. Too be honest, I've seen sooo many people fail on healing on niddhog or last boss on vault boss. When I play, 95% of the time, I don't wanna do it half assed, I'm trying my best and if my best isn't good enough it's about time to adjust myself and re-learn the class or simply ask people who knows the class. But when you can't do 2-3 overpowers, is that simply too much to ask for? And yes really 5 times, I even used shroud at some pull that managed to save my ass, so I wouldn't die .

I know a chick who was asked to use Virus during Thordan EX. She said, "you don't understand how hard it is to DPS as a healer." She's a sch btw. (I think I heard Kaurie and Ashkendor die a little inside.)

It's not okay. The tank wasn't doing his job, which probably would've kept you from doing even basic healing. Healing generates tons of aggro, and if the tank was failing to keep AoE hate on mob packs, you would've had stuff chasing you either way.

It is not okay because you were being inconsiderate of the tank. :P As much as I dislike dpsing no-defensive/enmity abilities warriors, you should not get obsessed with pressing all the buttons when the tank has enmity issues. 5 times really? xD And you hadn't considered that maybe you could have lowered your enmity output by not dpsing?

Healing generates far more enmity than DPS does. She probably would have had the same problem whether she DPS'ed or not. This isn't a matter of being considerate or inconsiderate to the tank. If the tank isn't holding enmity, they flat-out aren't doing their job and either their gear needs to be updated or their play needs some major adjustment. Since this was in Aery, she was synced down to a gear level appropriate for the dungeon and unless they were undergeared for the content, there's no way that a warrior of all things should have had any problems whatsoever keeping hate off of her.

Definitely agree it takes practice to DPS on sch (or any healer for that matter), but this person has played SCH exclusively since the beginning of 2.0.

Dpsing as a healer is not mandatory and if you dont want to deal damage as a healer, dont do it. But if you are sitting on alot of mana and you have a feeling that this will probably be like this the entire run, why not help the group by casting some offensive skills?
Remember few Holy spells in a AoE pull or Aero I/II/III spells on a single target will help the group alot. Just start dpsing as a healer by just throwing some dots, then as you get more and more comfortable, you will start to be more in Cleric Stance then out of it.

PS: Alot of DPS players realy need to improve, I have seen alot of Monks just attacking infront of mobs, Ninja only using doton, Dragoons never using Heavy Thrust. I wouldnt have noticed these issues, if I were not leveling these classes. I still wonder are they that clueless or plain lazy?

This. If my healer is sitting on full MP, sitting with their thumb up their butt or doing that annoying "I'm going to jump around out of boredom" thing, then guess what, I'm switching to Sword Oath/Deliverance/Turning off Grit when hate is established.

If you only want to heal, I'll gladly give you something to heal.

Seriously, not a very hard concept. And there's nothing dickish about it. You're pushing more DPS to get it done faster, and you're letting the healer do their "I only want to heal" thing. If the healer wants to add damage, I'll happily stay tank stance because the amount of damage they can push when I do tank stance is more than I can push by being in DPS stance and making them baby me more.

Anyways, only time I've ever had someone with Raging Strikes pull off me (After I've established my threat) is if they spam ST on a 6+ pack pull.
