Hey gang, there was actually a post from Yoshida that we missed on the 19th that addresses this topic specifically (sorry for the delay in getting it to you all!). I wanted to make sure everyone saw it, and spoke up with their opinions to what Yoshida is discussing.

Should just allow players to chance race the first time Free, Then release a way to change race for a cost and time limit. 6month and maybe 10-20$ cost would be a pretty good thing

Looks to me like Yoshi is hung up on the "overnight" process...

Perhaps it could be a morph that takes place in game over the course of a week...

In answer to Yoshi-P's post, it is incredibility unlikely I would want to change the race of my character. I spent a lot of time making the decisions I did. However, it is conceivable that a new race would persuade me to change.

Having said that, I understand that others would be keen to change. From a personal point of view I would prefer any changes made to be done over a short period of time. I could cope with people I know changing race, it would be strange but I could live with it, but it would be nice if all the changes were over and done quickly, rather than people changing at random times over a period of several months.

The solution seems pretty straightforward to me.

Since 2.0 is essentially a relaunch of the game with new races, it's only fair to offer players the option for a one time free race change.

After that, charge $10 for any further race changes to prevent abuse.

I really hope the word "immersion" does not pop up in this thread.

I agree with Yoshi about changing race "overnight" seems a bit odd. However, I think their should be a balance in being able to change races and being able to change only features/gender:

1. Changing Races: This option is only available if you want to change to one of the new races (Female Roe, Male Miqo'te). This should be a choice based on the following example. Imagine a player creating his new character, and wanted to play a Miqo'te. However, he/she did not want to play a female character for what ever reason, and decided to choose a race instead with a male option, e.g. Male Elezen. However, now that the game supports a Male Miqo'te, I believe it would be fair to give that player another chance.

2. Changing Gender/Features: This option should be available for everyone. Some people, including Yoshi, might think changing gender overnight may be extreme, though. However, if they are adding new facial, hair and other features to all the races, I know a lot of people might like the new options better. I believe this is a fair choice for everyone.

I'm for a one time free race change option with the new races and 2.0, however I think they should charge for race changes after that, and put some type of time limit on how long you must wait before you can change your race again.

I'm all for giving players that option, however, I for one, won't be using it.

Should allow a one time free race change option for players since SE is filling out missing races that should have been in the game since day 1.

After that, I think race change should be completely disabled regardless of whether or not SE adds completely new races to the game. I've never been a fan of paid race changes.

Totally support this. I know a ton of players who chose Miqo'te because they like kitty race, but some of them are guys and would rather have the "Manthra" more than "Mithra."

I always wanted to make My red Sonja character but there where no Female Highlanders for me to choose.
Please allow us to remake our characters.
