Where does it say in the latest announcement that we will be able to completely re-do our characters' race, gender, features, etc. without losing stats?

Many people have told me to "look in the PDFs, it's there", but I have yet to find it.

If it is indeed true, will we also be able to change our names?

You are definitely blind or can't read. I don't remember where exactly it is in there but I definitely remember seeing it, perhaps someone will be nicer than I am and actually go look through them to find it for you... when you could just look again, but not me.

When skimming the PDFs, it helps to use "CTRL+F" to [F]ind things. It is one of the only two instances of "Character" in that entire file.

Hey gang, there was actually a post from Yoshida that we missed on the 19th that addresses this topic specifically (sorry for the delay in getting it to you all!). I wanted to make sure everyone saw it, and spoke up with their opinions to what Yoshida is discussing.

This is Yoshida, the Producer/Director, and I'm on my way to Germany.

I'm afraid that there was a small discrepancy between the 2.0 announcement and the content of my interviews.

Since we are adding new races in 2.0, when customizing characters, players will be able to change everything about their characters, including their race. However, I am currently thinking about whether it is OK to allow players to transform from a male Roegadyn into a female Lalafell overnight…

Game policy-wise I am having a difficult time deciding on a direction, so I would appreciate it if I can receive your feedback on this issue so I can make the best decision possible.

If I make the race change possible, players who want to change can do so and players who don’t want to change have the option not to, so it may be best to allow race changes.
