    Soldier Job - Mixed ranged damage dealer

    Seeing as I'm not the only one who's been longing to get a gunblade job, I decided to try coming up with a suggestion for what could work for such a job.

    The concept I came up with, due to the increasing use of gunblades among Garlean officers, is that of a new job with "fresh" soul crystals - like the Machinist - based on the training and fighting style of a rebel officer.

    While mixed range combat can be problematic, my idea was that the job CAN use melee and ranged abilities, but is most effective in melee using both. The ranged abilities can allow for closing distance, or pursuit of a fleeing target, but would mainly be used in addition to the melee abilities to draw out the job's full fighting potential. Due to this, the job may have some abilities with utility effects, such as a ranged ability that can apply a slow so that a target can be reached or caught up to for melee combat or escape denial.

    I'm still not settled on how I'd like the job's "gimmick" with its signature weapon to work, however. Should the job have a toggleable "Renzokuken" ability which adds extra damage in the form of gunshots to melee attacks, or should the job have ranged abilities which can be used simultaneously during melee ones? I can also see the possibility of attack combos that switch between melee and ranged abilities, or a single ability that combines melee and ranged attack components.
