    Suggestion: Make changes for 2.x raids

    Hello S-E team and readers,

    for the longest now raids such as the Coil and Crystal Tower series have been heavily neglected, CT moreso because it requires a big team of 24 players. There's not much of an investment in running it because of loot problems, lack of a reason too with inconsistent drops (relating to 3.x and beyond) and at worst unorganized teams. I have a few thoughts that could change that.

    - Roulette: Anyone who's interested in running it for the week could be given a 100 poetics bonus, or tomestones equivalent to Heavensward and later expansions. Tomestones are a hot topic as of the time of this post as they are being collected for the new Relics (which I believe could have been better executed but I'll post that topic for another day).

    This alone will make the queue times flow much more quickly and the reward system can be similar to that of Main Scenario:Roulette where players new and old can come together and, of course, receive a bonus on top of their weekly rewards.

    - Better drops: I understand this is a huge topic, as it should be, as drops are not only random but heavily discourages players from repeating a dungeon/raid run because they are not guaranteed a drop they've been sacrificing their time for. Loot for a simple piece of gear in my previous run has not dropped and I have been running it religiously for two weeks straight with no drops. This is on top the bad queue times lasting over 45 minutes, 30 if it's 'busy'.

    I don't mean to be harsh but this is unacceptable to treat your players - at least with 1.0 they understood players have a diverse schedule and it was revolved around that, as ill-received as it was, and other competitive MMOs are fixing this problem, too.

    Giving us tokens, 3 - 5 to collect similar to that of Ravana and Bismark tokens of the 3.x expansion would have players returning in droves to get a drop that they want, not that they hope for.

    - Undersize parties: I love returning to old content and beating the snot out of Nael in T9 or Bahamut in T13. Undersized parties makes a player feel like a champ and its one of the best updates to come Heavesward for dungeons. Make this utilized in Party Finder for raids for the Crystal Tower series.

    This will help with players who aren't so well initiated with the mechanics and would be a lot less stressful knowing a good team could perhaps carry the raid through a boss fight. Also, others find this fun, and if I can recall Yoshi-P from a previous Live Letter in 2013 its to 'make content fun'.

    I'm sure there's other issues that could be fixed with this but at least with this start its a head in the right direction with a coding fix that is easy to implement. If this problem with old raids are ignored still I fear we'll see the problem revolving to 3.x content, like the Void Ark, which too has great lore and glamour drops, thus making all that development work null and, no pun intended, void.

    You can edit your first post to bypass that limit. As for the rest currently anyone with a poe bonus gets undersized carried through the whole coil and any exs run easily.

    This varies from server to server. On Behemoth I'm not seeing others that often get Coils cleared for those unable/don't wish to buy HW content. It does come to show however that considering the end-game of ARR is practically dead due to Heavensward being the new end-game(except for Ponies and Glamour), there's a skewed bell curve. Honestly, I'm actually curious as to what SE has statistically for people ranging from Lv 1-60 in combat classes so there's an idea on how the end-game of ARR fares compared to Heavensward.

    Old coils and Crystal Tower raids are pretty much pointless, minus glamours and the occasional card/minion. Theres very little incentive for the vets to want to go back at the moment and do these, minus the odd poetic bonus, that people are drooling over currently for relics. Just put your voice to the others, that want the devs to make a roulette for these things, to encourage the older players to go into them.
