Divine Veil does literally nothing for the paladin at ANY POINT. It's purely a 10% AOE stoneskin on the other 7 players. The buff isnt transferred, the first buff on the paladin is merely the "holding buff" that requires the heal to trigger.

Also, once you get used to how Divine Veil works, you shouldnt ever need to macro it. If you know the flow of a fight and how the party moves and positions you can easily time it to go out at the point a healer uses an aoe spell (or is spam healing with you) and it'll pop off anyway.
