I have been level 60 in mining and botany for many months and I never once touched the guild quests past the lvl 20 one.
Do I get anything good from doing them?

Free gil maybe? and the story lines are actually quite cute.
I remember doing the botanists quests and seeing the amount of personal growth the guild master went through. Im glad i was there for him![]()

Yes. I believe you will receive several additional skills related to collectible gathering and a few others. Additionally, if I remember, since its been a few months, I think you get the ability unlocked to gather scrips.

Fisher you actually have to do the quests in order to unlock Cloudfishing, Hellfishing, and Aetherfishing if I remember correctly.
Botanist/Miner I think all you really get is equipment and exp you won't need at level 60 anyway and some Tier IV materia.
Also, it's a throwback to how gathering was back in 1.0. I was rather amused by that.
Misread the OP XDMy bad...
Thought you were asking if there was any point to the botany/mining mini games at the Gold saucer...I'm already a bit buzzed. Whoops
Well, there is a point of doing the ones at 30 (the achievement for all lvl 30 class quests complete, I think it was called "best stories every told" or something...) but not sure of the rest.
The HW ones do reward a few skills.
materea, gil, and three pieces of gear at lv 52 and lv 54
