Um... OP, there are three ways to get the mochi in the fate:

    1) Kill opo opos
    2) Kill the mochi monsters
    3) Run in to the mochi tub, interact with it to grab some, and run away.

ANY class can do these things. What you are supposed to do is focus target the thing with the hammer so you can see it casting. Some of the casts are super fast, some are super slow. So you wait until he's doing a slow cast, then you can just run in and interact with the tub. If you only kill opo opos from far away, it takes forever...

On a slow cast, you can grab from the mochi tub like three or four times in one go.

And I love the housing objects! I mean, it would have been nice to have a different fate per area and have to do it 3 times for different items or something, but the idea of it was decent.

hm, heavensturn is not always terrible. i really liked the 2013/2014 and 2014/2015 event, they were funny. but this 2015/2016 event? this really IS terrible. worst event so far since i have started the game with 2.0 release xD some excuse of a story, do one fate... wow

Only thing I really dislike is that the decorations in the city and ward areas aren't obtainable, I'd really like the lantern and pole furnishings. That goes for the Moonfire and Ladies' event variation and additions from the Far East, too.

As for Heavensturn being bad, well, these events are supposed to break up the monotony of day-to-day stuff in the game... yet, they always have you do the same monotonous things... usually FATES, the most monotonous of all... so, with that in mind, I never expect anything OTHER than that kind of crap. The rewards are nice, but goodness... the purpose of the quests themselves is lost.

These seasonal events quests are usually all the same for the most part. FATEs, fetch quests, and/or cutscenes. Most people just skip the dialogue/cutscenes anyway as far as I know. After you do the quests, you are ultimately rewarded with cosmetic gear, barding, furniture, and/or minions. Sometimes you are rewarded with tokens to purchase cosmetic items instead of the items directly.

The first seasonal event quest I did when I played this game was just the summer bomb FATE one in 2013. I just repeated the same FATE over and over again to get tokens to purchase cosmetic beach attire items. Then we had the same thing with the Halloween one. The next one I did was the Christmas 2013 treant/fire FATE, which I had to grind over and over again for Eternal Ice tokens to purchase Starlight barding and other cosmetic items.

I think people are just being negative and jaded just to vent frustration for reasons I do not understand.

Seasonal events are usually a hit-and-miss kinda thing for me. Some festivities have it a lot easier to please me, though :x
Little Girl's Day is always lovely, Moonfire Faire as well, and obviously Starlight Celebration.
Halloween can go both ways, while Easter, GC Founding Day and Heavensturn are usually kind of lackluster.
For the worse ones, the rewards and decorations around town sometimes still make them worthwhile
I really look forward to finally obtaining oranges for my Kotatsu
And the lamps in the housing area are so pretty ^-^
    But the helmets...each year x.x

Yeah, some of them have been decent. But I'd still love to see some of the thought and imagination put into XIV's that was put into XI's. Those events could take hours to complete (or days if you spread it out). They were not done in 10-20 minutes, and they had a lot more interaction between players, etc. It was always fun seeing people shouting for help with one of the events, or looking to trade items in those sorts, or looking for players who matched certain criteria for others, players running around world areas trying to find and attract buffalo to lead around, and on and on.

XIV's feeds so much into the whole "Just hurry up and give me my reward" mindset that's so common anymore.

The clothing rewards really suck. I wont bother getting those ugly monky hats. :/
    The housing items are nice.

I like Heavensturn.(๑✧◡✧๑)Especially the year of the horse! Hmmm, I would love to have been Lord Haurchefant personal steed. Heheheh yeah....

Anyroad, I hope future events become more elaborate or just have better gear. I sure do want kimonos and Chinese dresses! That would be nice. Very nice indeed.( ̄▽ ̄)
