Easy fun dps class to play

I used to play this game a few months back, but stopped for a few different reasons. Since I never got to 50 and I have zero idea how to play. I was just going to reroll on a new server new class. I did level a black mage a bit and though looking it up "seems" to do high dps, I seemed to utterly suck at it.

So basically what is a good dps class/job that is good for a starting player? I am mostly casual, don't plan to get hardcore into either pve or pvp. But would be nice playing something that I can at least do decent dps on. Doesn't bother me if it's ranged or melee.

Bard is the answer ^^ fun, easy , you can run around while attacking 100% easy you start as an Archer class in gardinia till lvl 30 then lvl 15 pug and thats it ^^ .enjoy your return

I was going to say Bard too (I swear I'm not biased........cough)

But also fun to me is Ninja. The combos/mudras can take a bit getting used to but they ease you into it.

Agree with Askaray but nin can only be unlocked after going to limsa or reaching lvl 10 not a starter but its a great DPS ^^

Bard is the answer.

Never ever pick Dragoon though. The basic rotation of a level 60 Bard has the same complexity of a level 30 Dragoon.

Thanks for the replies. I did level a ninja a bit as well. Into the late 30s if I remember right. Did find it fun as well. But seems Bard will be the one to look at.

I'd probably choose based on what you don't want, since easy is a matter of opinion. Dragoon, Ninja, and Monk have positional attacks (attack from back/side/etc) and combos. Bard has damage-over-time skills to watch and later has cast times, Black Mage has poor mobility and is Black Mage, and Summoner has damage-over-time skills and pets to micromanage. The last three are squishier, too.

Don't avoid Dragoon if you like it. I leveled it to 60 and it wasn't that bad around 30, and you can cross-class some HP recovery skills for solo questing.

I just give each a try and see which one I like the most then. One other thing, with the houses. Always wanted one with the last server I played on, but noticed they were always full. I did hear more are coming, is there any real chance a returning/new player could even get one without picking a dead server?

Well yes of course as long as you have the gil to get it
They will make new housing areas and there are always on players who might sell thier houses

BRD or NIN you wanna think lvl 50+ where dps rotations become stupid, DRG and MNK requires to many buttons and positionals which is hard to hit with tanks spinning mobs like crazy, BLM >_> becomes a single target dps imo and keeping up Enochian can become a chore, SMN is awesome but between all the buttons, maintaining stacks, and managing pets it could get a bit complicated, MCH I can't really say much since I don't play the class lol but you will have to manage turrets from what I see...soo after all that NIN is super easy to use and BRD is easy as well even with WM
