Comparing the sale of the FF13 crossover stuff to seasonal events doesn't make sense. The FF13 crossover isn't seasonal. It was a one off and won't be coming back. Since people are comparing it to WoW, it would be like WoW's pre expansion events, the rewards of which are now impossible to get in game and never will be again.
From a event point of view I prefer FF14's model. While the events are far smaller, they are always different each year with different rewards and a small, but unique storyline. WoW's events are exactly the same thing every year and have been for so many years the appeal has long since died. They do add new glamours and novelty items but there has been no new actual event content for years.

If this thread has taught me anything its that we've moved on from elitist being the popular word on the forums to white knight.
Honestly I'm ok with previous event items being made available in the cash shop. If that makes me a white knight in peoples eyes so be it.
People would probably be less salty if the pretext the game is getting better development from cash shop. Call it like it is a Corporate Greed station, and move on. Or they are lieing through the chocobos backside (to lazy to find a pic) and the game population is really down and we are borderline f2p.

Well, white knighting is a rampant problem in our culture lately. People want to ban, or label everything as offensive. It's like witch hunting but adapted to the age of social media.

I am happy people got what they asked for. I am happy they got the lighting event item. I am glad it makes all the SE Cash shop haters cry more, making them salty. Thank you Square.

You confuse salty with expressing one's opinions and concerns. And you should be worried too, if you ask me, unless you would be glad if the devs keep working overtime, if crappy "compromises" have to be made during the implementation of content because of a lack of manpower and resources, if you have to keep having those "limitations" that the game has had for a veeeery long time, if the quality of the game doesn't improve, or better, gets worse, etc. You get the idea.
But whatever. What do we know, right? Is not as if Yoshi-P has "somewhat" pointed these issues at all.
Sigh...

I know of three players who could personally fund the entire next expansion with just the amount they pay in fantasia potions. Not to mention all the extra things like outfits, name changes, mounts, and past event items. I really don't care what people throw away their money on, but with how lackluster and empty the content has been since the expansion it is obvious that the cash shop just goes to line $E's pockets.

Fixed for you.

Have enough of lightning and all the FF13 franchise...
