Why do so many people FAIL at dps.

I have nerve damage in my hands that reduces my physical range of motion.

Not trying to discount the rest of your comment, as it is definitely a good read, I just wanted to ask if you've ever considered a gaming-mouse for this game? I have a logitech G600, and pretty much the only thing my left hand does is control movement and a couple of random keybinds - everything else is bound onto the mouse buttons

MMO mice can be quite challenging to get used to (I regretted my purchase for about 3 weeks until I finally got comfortable with it), but I couldn't do without it now. May help you out with your range issues.

You, sir, deserve my +1. What you explain is the epitome of exactly what a lot of us are fairly complaining about. We understand there are various difficulties associated with coming to this game and playing your job compared to how other games handle it. We understand that. What we can't understand is how even disabled players can and will perform above the bar set by players with no disabilities.

Ayuhra, that's and dandy, you try, you bring your best much as you. Great, wonderful, you are the type of dps that people would LOVE in groups but those are those are just, don't care! I have a co-worker who plays a dps and she says by quote "I just those push the buttons that make those other buttons that light up for me to push" unquote. I face palmed after she made that statement

I honestly think there is a knee jerk need to act flippant in the DPS community. Someone is criticizing you so you turn the blame around. It's more likely to happen among DPS because of the community belief that we are plentiful and therefor disposable. Thinking you could be kicked at any moment makes you overly defensive, I've noticed. So you get DPS saying things like "It's not my fault I died, the healer wouldn't heal me" even though they were standing in the middle of a targeting reticule. I'm not defending that mindset, just saying it is indeed a thing.

I have a Red Dragon Mammoth which is a gaming mouse after a sense. My problem is I got said damage for having very, very small hands and most mice seem to be for larger hands. However if you know about any gaming mice better for smaller hands (Despite its name, the Mammoth is not that large) I would be interested. (not to derail the topic)

While I have agreed with many of your posts, this one I do not. She hasn't derailed the thread, this is specifically what your thread is talking about. Why do DPS refuse to use tools provided to them to maximize their output, meanwhile as a WAR you are refusing to use the tools available to you to maximize your output.

There is an argument for VIT, which I disagree with, but that is (in part) the answer to your question of why people do not maximize their output.

PS: VIT gear doesn't make you take less damage, STR gear does.

Honestly it's hard for me to think of it as a disability, even though I suppose it is. It's never hindered me before. When I cleared Garrosh in WoW something like 0.8% of the community had done it. I was not a top of the line player, mind you, it was hardly a World First Clear, but that fight was (and remains) a very hard one but I was able to keep damage up and survive the entire thing. There are more buttons in FFXIV, it seems, and many of them are part of an active rotation rather than being situational.

Actually no, evidence was presented to dispute the OP's claims that they were a good DPS, when in actuality, that doesn't look to be true, making this thread a hypocritical mess.
