    I loved 1.0 it had alot of problems no doubt about it, but I really wish they were a little more true to the original game and design when they went to 2.0.

    The biggest issue the game had was the engine, not the content.

    The UI took FOREVER to even load anything, things such as basic menu interactions became laborious. The engine and it's slipshod optimization was the cause of the vast open world maps being the way they were. Hell 1.23 was miles better than what we started out with in Alpha and 1.0, the game was shoved out the door before it was ready and the bedrock (Engine) was faulty from the starting line. The game started out with little content and janky mechanics due to the limitations of the system in place so much so they threw it out and started anew. Sadly they threw more than just the engine out.

    Yes. And the reason I left was certainly not the engine. I followed the MSQ up to the point where I couldn't anymore because I needed more levels (Which was very soon). Since I couldn't find enough quests for my level, despite searching far and wide in the Shroud, La noscea and Thanalan, I tried leves, but only had 3 a day, so after that I tried grinding mobs instead, up to the point where I needed better equipment because I got my ass handed to me by equally leveled mobs (also, my equipment was broken). And then I couldn't find any affordable gear and tried making it myself. Took up a pickaxe, ran out to the desert, then got crushed by a random Ant while trying to find a node. Eventually I made it, did some accessories as goldsmith and was happy to at least have gotten *something* done in this game (I still keep those on my retainer). My highest level at this point was like 11, about three weeks in.

    Then I logged out and conveniently forgot to log in again.

    "The engine" being a representative example. The entire back end made the game almost unplayable on the front end.

    Tanaka wanted to make XIV hack-proof, so he had the idea to do EVERYTHING server side. Every. Thing. There was a one second delay for every action you took on your UI, and what the game did in response. Auto-attack was not a thing; your character did not make any attacks at all unless you performed the hotbar actions. Crafting was okay, but gathering was a painful mini game that is now where it rightfully belongs in the Gold Saucer, as a MINI GAME.

    I played during 1.23b when Yoshi P had taken the train wreck of 1.x and transformed it into a decent game, but it was still crippled by its own poor back end infrastructure, a bad UI design, badly optimized graphics. It was actually a fun game, but the massive nasty UI lag persisted up until Bahamut blew everything up.

    I'd say 75% of the rewrite work on XIV 2.0 happened on the server end, not the front end, since many art assets were ultimately recycled. Now instead of asking the server for every request you put into the UI, it only does the important ones (e.g. crafting RNG, damage calculations, etc) and lets the server and client do pull notifications every 15 seconds for other less important updates (syncing your inventory) and lets the client handle actual menu generation. (Yes, 1.0 pulled all menu requests from the server. Bleagh!)

    Err not to point this out but...... how did the guy have access to 1.0 server with unreleased titan Cs??

    The Cs doesn't even look like fc1.0 more like some CGI someone made. The lip sync is to perfect for the voice. Which was not the case in ff11 and not all screens was voiced


    Wasn't done but a few discrepancy

    1) company of Heroes is a 2.0 thing they are just a lore reason why 1.0 players didn't fight titan the real reason was due to the tsunami quake in Japan and thought it was in poor taste to release titan and levi

    2) 1.0 used in game graphics for cs. That is high res CGI. So no way that a 1.0 Cs.

    3) if it was released, that would have been player characters. Player characters were not voiced. And why is only the female Midlander voiced??


    4) titans dismemberment sorry the 1.0 graphic where good but not that good. Look at the Cs with merlwyb she shot a guy point blank and no blood spatter the chick hacked titans sum off with blood effects.

    5)look at the lip movement its spot on to the English voice acting. Sorry but no game I played has game graphics that spot on. That near movie quality 1.0 voiced Cs looked nothing to that quality.



    That's someone home made movie they just downloaded one of the many 1.0 vids and edited in.


    If you look up past voids that same miqo'te was in a Cs montage of ff1.0 and it was released yesterday..


    Why would he wait 4 years to post it??

    There's a 'project' out there that is a private-server sortof thing going on. The guy who made the video used that as his base, and has done a lot of work in moving forward with understanding the 1.0 architecture. He's got a blog with some updates and stuff on it.

    Did you forget the opening cutscene/video to 1.0? :P Not everything in 1.0 used the in-game engine for it, lipsyncing was pretty well done for the actual movies too. If you think THAT video is fan-made, you've got very low standards.. :X

    CoH was a 1.0 thing. The Tsunami/Quake is indeed why SE didn't release Leviathan/Titan, but they left the cutscene behind in the game's files, which is where Ion found it to show everyone.

    Because it WASN'T RELEASED. Work on it wasn't completed, which is why there's a small bit there when the camera is pointing at bare rock and nothing is going on (that's likely where more things would've gone on), and why there's no music (SE uses placeholder beeps for things, you can hear them sometimes at the beginning of the video. The female Midlander only being voiced is because the cutscene was still a 'Work in Progress', ie: not released.

    HA. No. No one person can make a better video than the entire team at SE, especially considering that bits and pieces of this unreleased cutscene are in other trailer videos for 1.0. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5fC...utu.be&t=1m25s 1:25 into this video, you can see Titan holding up his heart. Ion (the guy who found the CS) didn't travel back in time and put his video into that trailer from 2010.

    The look of the character in the game has absolutely nothing to do with this video. I found somebody who looks like my current character the other day, does that mean there are two of me? No, it's just somebody else who uses a similar look. You have to go by the channel name of where the video is, or the character name, if you want to try to connect this video to any other.
    Why would he wait 4 years to post it??
    I don't get this part.. he only found this cutscene in the 1.0 files today, so where did you get the 4 years from?

    I'm autistic with Asperger's Syndrome but I can type normally. Hell, I can even type on my computer with my eyes closed or looking away as I know where the letters are on the keyboard.

    I wonder if Ion has anymore unreleased cutscenes? There are bound to be more that a lot of us haven't seen.

    And the Company of Heroes have a male Miqo'te in 2.0, but as of 1.0 we only had females lol

    The only thing wrong really with combat of v1 was that it was incredibly slow moving and there was a definite lack of animations.

    And if this is fake, they need to hire this guy cause he made a more interesting cutscene than whoever thought the arr/hw ones were good enough, if its not they need to get the guy who did make this back or get him more involved
