Original titan cutscene for 1.0. You can see why the Warriors of Light do what they do. You can see that Titan cares about the Kobolds. You can see how angry he is and what a fierce fight this is going to be.

Where was that story in 2.0? Why did it get cut out? It's both beautiful and terrifying. Makes me respect Titan a whole lot more!

1.0/FFXI producer, took the fall for 1.0 because SE decided to put it out early before everything was finalized, then we got Yoshi-P who supposedly saved the game by turning it into a generic WoW clone with a FF skin.

The original FFXIV director/producer. Tanaka also was involved with other Square projects like Final Fantasy III/XI, Chrono Cross and Xenogears. Also, be careful what you wish for. I'll admit, Tanaka may have had a lot of great ideas for the original game, but his execution was much worse than anything Yoshi and his team is doing now. (No, not praising Yoshi-P. Tanaka was worse.)

Parley was an option in 1.0.
You could complete the main scenario on crafting classes if you so wanted to. Other than chucking rocks at things you could just talk your way though.
