    Returning Player - Few Questions

    Hello all!

I'm a returning player and pretty lost with all this new stuff.

I played during the extended Beta (1.0 or whatever it was called) and after coming back, the learning process has been slow. For starters, I wanted to see if you guys can give me some pointers on where to start off. I have a few 50 classes but now I see there are jobs (I did the quest to be able to join different guilds). However, I'm not sure what is the best way to level new classes/jobs.

Next, I wanted some suggestions on items I could buy and resell on a different server. I've read that you can only transfer 1mil gil per a character and 100k per retainer. As I don't plan on making another character, I need to buy about a 1mil worth of items to hold onto (Unless there is a better way to transfer money onto a server?). Maybe I could make a character on the server I plan on going to and research the market (I'm not trying to make a profit)? It doesn't seem that ffxivpro is that great of a tool at the moment.

What websites do you guys suggest for information? Any other advice would be much welcomed as well. I apologize that if some of these are common knowledge, I'm just really lost at the moment XD.

    Thanks,

    Feint~

Transferring gil between servers seems to be a problem.

My best advice would be make an alt on the world you're moving too, take a look at the MB for things that are expensive there, and check their history too. If they seem to be consistent and high price sellers, then you might be wise to buy a few (or a stack or two if materials) to take with you in your inventory. Of course you want to be wary of flooding the market if the items are rare on the target world. You may find that some things are less expensive on your present world, and quite lucrative on the target. So they may make ideal items to move.

Making an alt is your best choice and first check mb for shards crystals and maps these are the most selling things across servers
As for jobs as i see your a GLD so you need a lvl 15 cnj to become a paladin after your get that a new quest in the guild that will lead you to the pld quest and you got aloooot of 2.x till you reach 3.0 enjoy XD

Jobs have the level of their primary class, so for instance as a 50 GLD / 26 CNJ, you can take the Paladin quest and immediately be a level 50 PLD. You'd then want to take the level 30, 35, 40, 45, and 50 PLD quests to catch up on job skills and get your Artifact gear, but you wouldn't have to level it up again.

From Lodestone, it looks like you've got quite a few of your classes leveled up, so I'd recommend starting by going around to all of the class guilds, joining each of them and unlocking all the jobs that you already qualify for. (If Lodestone is right, you already qualify for Paladin, Monk, Dragoon, Bard, and Black Mage.) Catch up on class/job quests up to the level you're at in each one, and then use your lowest level class to work through the 2.0 Main Scenario Quests.

ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wiki/Jobs Shows which classes are involved in unlocking and supporting each job.
Oh, and ffxiv.gamerescape.com/wiki/Guide:Progression_and_Level_Locked_Content lists other things you may want to unlock (though I'm not sure which of those you'd already have as a returning 1.0 player).
Both those sites have plenty of other useful stuff as well, if you browse around them a bit.

As for transfering extra gil-equivalent items, making an alt to check the Market Board on your destination server, and comparing its items to your local one is the most effective at having the most gil transfer with you.

But if you instead want the quick and simple way of transfering a significant portion (though not necessarily the most possible), Allagan coins (Allagan Bronze Piece, Tin Piece, Silver Piece, Gold Piece, etc.) are a safe bet, because their real use is to sell to NPC merchants for gil, so they have a significant guaranteed value in that NPC price, though you might have to pay a bit of a premium above that to buy them off the MB.
