    2. The quests are even more monotonous than most themepark MMO's, although the main story isn't half bad. That being said, it seems like the whole game is driven by the main story, and that's hard for me to swallow in an MMORPG. I get that it's Final Fantasy, but I played XI and even that wasn't quite like that.

    3. It is very difficult to do anything with new friends who join the game. Whereas in most games you can just find a friend where they start in the world and go questing/grinding etc with them, so much of this game is tied to the story that you would have to keep leaving your friend over and over for instanced story events.

    May I ask if you've tried joining a Free Company? I looked at your Lodestone profile and saw that you weren't in one. They can help you do different things, especially with gearing up. A lot of people are happy to help new players by crafting them gear and accessories, or by running dungeons for gear.
