Let's take a moment to reflect on how Yoshi has made this the best MMO in the market:

Completely revamped the entire game in 2.0, making the greatest comeback in gaming history since FFI.

Is constantly pushing out new fresh content in the game every few months.

Actually communicates with the playerbase and directly addresses their concerns. Certain other MMOs NEVER show this kind of devotion to their players.

Has made raiding more accessible. Now I dont have to be hardcore or pay for carries to see the story.

SOOO many character customization options! I've bought so much fantasia to make my character look however I want.

Amazing housing. Not only can I customize my character, but I can also customize my house! It's really refreshing to have a place in ffxiv to call my own!

And so much more that I could go into. Every time I see Yoshi in a live letter, you can literally see how tired he looks because he works so hard pouring his heart into this game. Don't let all the negative haters and naysayers get you down!

Most of what you said has been done by WoW as well. Not that they aren't any better off for it, but it's completely false to say that yoshi p is special in this regard.

And some of that just isn't true... Like "fresh content" per patch, at least for the the case of 3.0 anyway

Strickly speaking I would argue only two of his points are valid for WoW.

Regardless that doesn't make the achievements of FF14 and its dev team any less valid.

I seen more in Dragon's Dogma Online, Tera Online, and PSO2. (not mentioning black desert....that wouldn't be fair)

Uhhh..... well I'm grateful for making a world where I met my awesomest of friends while giving us plenty to talk about, including your plans for housing and prices, Diadem, the entirety of PvP, crafting choices (scrips and specialist), dungeon mapping and other cool stuff. Never played 1.0 but you'd do better than me in MMO redesigning that's for sure, maybe, I'm not skilled for that stuff yet X)

It did make a come back and save the game. Greatest comeback in gaming history? Doubt it. FFXIV Realm Reborn brought nothing new to the table. It borrow the same formula as wow and rift already have and make it a casual game where everyone enjoy. I admit 1.0 have it flaws, but atleast it's different and stand on it own as unique game. Now it's just another wow game with a Final Fantasy franchised title slap on it.

You mean the same Yoshi P. Rehash same contents formula we get every 3 - 4 Months? 2 New Dungeon, 1 New Trial, 1 New Raids, Continues of Story Quest and new PvP rules and zone?

This same formula have been going on since 2.0, even later then that, and here we are in 3.0 and almost another expansion in and we are still seeing the same rehash formula being used. People are getting burned out and bored of this formula already. A lot of people have left the game due to the horizontal gear progression and tomb grind.

Yeah, it's great isn't it? Players have been asking for a better housing system, more wards, better inventory management, more inventory slots, que when Chocobo being summon, Egi Glamoured, Trust System, etc.

Oh wait, we got our answer with server limitation and they gave us Lord of Vermillion!

Like how Alex is overtune and static and friend breaking up because of it? How Alex is such a step down and let down from the Epicness of Coils and a much more boring storyline that no one care?

How only 3% of the population doing and clearing Alex?

Compare to other game, it's very average. Aion, Black Desert, Guild Wars have way more complex Players Customization.

I wouldn't call Amazing Housing when the limit is so little with small being 50, medium 100, and large 200. Wild Star tototally blow FFXIV Housing out of the water.

Also, you have to note that less then 20% of the players base are able to own a House because of the limitation of housing and it isn't instances. It doesn't help either that Housing are broken. Alts can buy all the Housing Wards, making the rich monopolize the market making rich more rich, and the poorer more poorer. It sad that only a few percentage have to experience what Housing is like. Not to mention all the FC out there that want a House but could not.



Sure, FFXIV is a great game. But it far from being the best and number one MMORPG out there. It could do better and have so much potentials. Only FFXIV and WoW now have a subscription based with little or no competotion, but it won't stay like that forever if it keep using the same boring rehash with every new contents being released. Stop it with the excused of server limatation. Stop it with this horizontal gears grind progression. Enough of the new tomb we have to grind every few month just to become obsolete in 3 months. No one want to work hard to get the best gears to have it become obsolete so fast in a couple of months and back to the same grinding. Stop thinking the same formula will work forever.

From a gameplay perspective, sure. However, FFXIV went from nearly bankrupting Square Enix to single-handily pulling their stocks above of the red line. It currently is funding both FFXV and FFVII Remake, though by how much is debatable. No one game has ever accomplished such a feat. While you can certainly criticise the game's overall lack of creativity - even though I would personally disagree - you cannot take away what Yoshi achieved. Different does not always equate to good. In fact, many developers fall victim to desperately trying to avoid cliches, they instead go the opposite extreme. To cite a non-SE example, BioWare's mishap with Mass Effect 3 caused one of the biggest backlashes in gaming history, all because they insisted on a "unique" ending when they fanbase wanted something simple.
