So, I just did Castrum Meridanium for my first time, rather than be fully immersed in the story I ended up getting irritated and was left with a bad taste in my mouth. Why?

I am trying to watch the cutscenes and people are speedrunning it like someone's holding a knife to their throat saying if they don't finish the dungeon in 10 minutes you'll die.

Honestly, I wish there was an option to either revoke any tomestones of poetics from quick completion or prevent people from starting bosses until cutscenes are done being watched.

If you watch every CS to completion, it's almost 75 minutes long. The dungeon takes 20 without them, tops.

CM is like 5-10 minutes extra with CS... Praetoruim though is like an extra 30 minutes of CS.
But yeah if you want to watch then DF is sadly a bad place for it

Dogem I was in your party tonight in CM and your right that was very rude of them 2 people were locked out of most of those fights and I was locked out once also.

Actually it was generous of them to let you take your time with the cutscenes. Nobody is going to sit still for too long when the next target can easily be killed by the remainder of the party.

You should be grateful they let you do that without a fuss. They didn't harass you, or boot you for being presumed as afk. Because yes, perception is considered valid when a vote kick is issued.

Imagine running it daily for rewards then each time having to wait the 75 minutes while people watched the videos. I understand ans was upset my first time though as well but after awhile...it starts to make more sense why people don't wait for those who want to watch cutscenes.

CM is a poorly thought out dungeon, as is Prae. I recommend, if you haven't already done Prae, to get any friends who are lvl 60 to unsync it and let you watch all the cutscenes (it's doable with 1-3 lvl60 players, so you won't need many to help out). Sorry you had to go through this, thankfully they don't do this again after CM/Prae.

Just watch the cutscenes and not worry about being locked out. It's what I did on my first run. I understood that it was a decision between seeing the cutscenes and fighting the bosses. Besides, the loss of a single level 50 character isn't going to seriously hamper most runs.

Unfortunately SEs solution to being locked out only works at the very start. As people were running off leaving the person behind in the early days.

You do realize that tome bonus is there to make up for waiting for cutscenes and new players right?

Oh wait, people are jerks and human nature dictates you bite the hand that feeds you. You wouldn't get those tomes if there were no new players with you, would you? The least you can do is be nice and wait for them.

Honestly I'm probably just going to get better gear and run through it solo next time since even though you get 100 extra tomes people don't care about what those tomes mean and speedrun it anyways.
