That's exactly why I think we should have the options to be able to turn things like that on or off. They could have it as a default with everything on. Have tutorials (if they add them in the game) and all that other good stuff that help players. Then for the players that don't want it, they just simply turn it off.

The thing is, there are quite a few games that basically tell you how to do everything. It isn't just a WoW thing. It has been around before WoW. Though, I do understand why everyone talks about WoW. I personally like the fact that I don't have to research every single little thing, like I did in FFXI. I am not in high school anymore, I don't hours upon hours to spend on just researching. I do enough of that for crafting purposes. I don't want everything handed to me, but I don't want to spend all day researching like I had to in FFXI. I want a good balance between the casual and hardcore, since I'm not either one of them.

As I said, the problem about options is that developers need to draw a line. Making an option toggleable on and off requires coding and testing (adding to the workload), and adds load (small, of course) and complexity to the code.

I just don't think this is relevant enough to warrant a toggle, especially when SE is working on streamlining the client.

You make a good point about that, can't deny that. The client does need streamlining and all this can hinder all of that. I still want all those options lol. Though, if I don't get all the options that I want I'm not going to cry and quit the game. I understand that getting everything that I want isn't necessarily what this game needs. So, I don't want the dev team doing everything that I want them to do for this game. I know that pushing the boundaries of what I want, can be better than just going along with what I'm just comfortable with.

I prefer the markers. In XI i found my playtime balancing wiki and XI. Also, Alt-tab kicks you off just like now so i was forced to be in window mode which I hate very much. I would love(once beastman tribes are in) to have to survive in one of there camps and find some ancient relic(not by killing but it actually having random spawn points). The less research on wiki I have to do the better. I just want some more challenging bad ass content. Also add some Mini bosses into the lore(I think about WoW where they had the evil elf arugal or something).

the gamje can't have too many on/off switches the game data file size is big enough abd growing. Even ffxi had to limit the autro translate due to hdd size. Plus it gets annoying making and remaking character and having to turn everything off.

You got options, it called just ignore it. I ignore most of the map markers in Oblivion and Two worlds 2. I barely even use the teleports also.

Think you guys should really stop complaining over every lil thing. Its getting annoying and now ppl are screaming hand holdong in other topics. Hand holding is playing WoW with 50 addons blinking, chiming when certain moves come up so you move your character in time. Like the "don't stand in the fire" one. A game biemg more user friendly is not hand holding. Take one for the team knowing mmo newbies will be helped instead of bugging you. And you playing babysitter like I know how you guys "love" playing.

@ zen not every WoW player like being hand held. And WoW wasn't "easy" for everyone.

I Don't feel WoW held my hand, I had a hard time understanding stuff at first. (not a pc gamer)

Oh and nice sexist remark. Suggestions : watch what you cry about. And do remove your head from your rear I got butter if you need it.

    ya
try playing an mmo fir only 2 hrs a dayt
that was me on both WoW and ffxi since I had to share my pc and ps2.
in ffxi 2 hrs was spent just in travel alone couldn't even get a quest done. It got to the point where I was getting the more time consuming missions like magicite or then limit break in with the 3 undead mini bosses that was harder to kill. ( needed an allience to kill them fast ) I had to go out and by a ps2 and router just to even play ffxi after a while.

For sure you don't work in marketing. Otherwise you'd know some of the basic rules that I had to spell for you (and for some reason, you still seem not to understand, denial much?)

Again you are backtracking.....you said the game was a commercial failur, you were wrong...
Nope. I said that the game was a critical commercial failure, and I backed it up. You've simply been proven wrong.
To be precise, your own data prove you wrong. As they are intentionally generic and show a true pittance in revenue, that's easily beaten by most of the other critical failures out there in the market.

now....lick my boots clean, that's a good boy....

    post one more time like a good boy. {pat pat}
Please, grow up. I understand that being proven wrong burns, but you're getting childish.
