Let me explain something to Solace...

If you have that attitude, I suggest you sell your car/bike/motorcycle and walk everywhere. Not in shoes mind you, but in bare feet. I also suggest you throw away your remote control, downgrade to the slowest internet connection possible and go back to telegraph for the transmitting of messages. Further, you should plant a garden, raise cattle and consume only products that you have grown/raised by your own hand. You should also build your residence from adobe or rock that you quarried. If you aren't prepared to do all of this, then please do the rest of the world a favor and keep your mouth shut, your hypocrisy is maddening. You are stating that only the processes you feel are acceptable should be implemented, even though you don't adhere to same principles in your every day life.
The problem with you is envy. You are jealous of others. If you choose to drive a car, take a train, plane, boat, etc., then that is your choice but your insistence that the rest of the world do so because you made that decision is completely banal. If time devoted as opposed to challenges overcome is what you consider rewarding, that is your choice. Many people however, would rather spend that time facing the challenges of dungeons, raids, and content as opposed to the monotony of grinding simply because some buffoon thinks that is what RPG's or MMORPG's should be..or even more to the point, some would rather make money, HAVE REAL FRIENDS, i.e. a LIFE. The worst part about it is that you are such a sad individual that you feel that your hours somehow make you better than someone else in a virtual reality. I am sorry your reality is such that you need this separation to somehow feel adequate or superior.

RPG's have always been about adventure...people play them to escape reallity, if only for a short time. When your reality has become this game, then that is your choice. If you need a game where grinding away at the same thing for days on end, why not learn to program it yourself? Odds are, you'll be much happier playing it by yourself than you would this game....and odds are even greater that you'd be the only one "playing" it. If you need the game to be a job, you need a tougher real job.
