"Any recast timers in place will not be reset by changing classes." - not working?

Any recast timers in place will not be reset by changing classes.
This is copied from the 1.19a patch notes, and is regarding the new "action bar saving" feature introduced in 1.19a.

Perhaps I am misinterpreting what is said, but when I change a class, every single ability on the action bar has its cooldown reset.

The occasion that I find this most distressing is if I need to change to a crafting class temporarily to repair someone's gear, craft a replacement item, or something similar -- in this case my (Rebirth) ability's cooldown is reset to 30 minutes when I set back to CNJ.

Is this feature working as intended?

Because Rebirth isn't usable on another class. I believe that if an ability is equipped on two jobs and you switch between them, the recast should not be reset. Class-specific actions will reset however since they cannot cooldown on a class that cannot use said ability. Pretty sure this is how it works--test for yourself.

I'm sorry to bump this thread but we received information that fits here. ^_^

Actions that have been reported with long recast timers, such as rebirth, will maintain their same recast timers when classes are changed.

We will let you know when we decide on a timetable for implementation.

LOL cash shop! SE's way to tell their player how they appreciate them... pull the carrot and empty your pockets $$$
And to those who support it: you are kicking yourselves. -- We just need to sit back and laugh at people with cash shop items.

Just set your long recast timer abilities on all your classes. Now you dont have to worry about it resetting.

Well, IMO it's correct all recasts reseting after class change. It would be kinda unfair having everything ready right after changing classes.

But what Sigmakan said is also valid since class-exclusive actions do not use action points if equipped in a different class.

What we need is for the Ifrit fight to be treated like a leve quest - that is, when you enter it, all of your abilities are available. I'm sick and tired of changing to Conjurer before the fight only to realize that I can't use Tranquility for 10 min.

This indeed would be a good thing...having everything ready by the time you enter a instanced content, just like leves.

Not by the fact of being instanced, but by the fact it's a content with timer so having to wait cooldown after you enter affects directly the performance in it.
