[Suggestion] PvP Log file

It is not defamation. A key requirement of defamation is that the accusation be false.
That is why I posted a link to the source of the information that I have that states that XIVPVP is a Network Monitoring tool.

The maker of XIVPVP said it not me. So it is not defamation to say xivpvp is a network monitoring tool. On the other hand it is defamation to say I am defaming XIVPVP.

I quoted 3 different Terms and Agreements for ffxiv and related services that clearly states use of network monitoring software and analyzing data from the game and sites content is a violation of your agreement with SE.

XIVPVP defines itself as a network monitoring program and site that analyzes data directly from the games network traffic. Follow simple logic every 5th grader should know and you find that xivpvp client use is prohibited with FFXIV.

Transitive Property
If A = B and B = C then A = C

Addition property of equality
If A = B then A + C = B + C.

Facts:
XIVPVP client = Network monitoring software
Prohibited activity = Use of Network monitoring software


Here is the math:

Start by using the addition property of equality
Add "Use of" to each side of "XIVPVP client = Network monitoring software" equation

and you get
"Use of XIVPVP client = Use of Network monitoring software"

now both facts above have the same statement "Use of Network monitoring software"

"Use of XIVPVP client = Use of Network monitoring software"
AND
"Use of Network monitoring software = Prohibited activity"

So we can use the Transitive Property
Use of XIVPVP client = Prohibited activity

You do realize that most Antivirus/Firewall software monitor network packets? Some of them even monitor application memory, or inject dlls. Right now, you're probably breaking the same terms you're quoting.

While I do agree with your suggestion about a log file (I even asked Kahuna for some help regarding this), I'm not sure I understand why you're hating on XIVPvP so much. Are you applying to be a CM or a GM?

I dont hate on XIVPVP. The use of the Client for uploading to it on the other hand is a violation of the ToS/ToU/EUA as it is directly monitoring traffic from FFXIV. Anti virus programs are not specifically collecting information sent by FFXIV and are not collecting that data for any purpose other then checking for known threats. Using them to collect information about the games traffic for other uses would certainly fall under the same kind of violation. Wireshark and fiddler are perfectly normal tools but are not allowed to be used with FFXIV to monitor FFXIV traffic and i don't imagine you would think that was right to do. The purpose of bringing it up as was to stress the importance of implementing a log file, so that SE customers can upload data to XIVPVP and other sites with out violating the terms and agreements.

creating a xml logfile(s) shouldn't be too hard. These could also be used by the game to give a graphical representation in-game of your, lets say, 5 latest matches.

Not once did I advertise a external link.
Again your word choice is terrible. Advertising is to encourage the use of something.
I cited a external resource and posted where the source information was from.
Additionally you didn't add that topic/section to your post when you said I was using an external site. All of the items you referred to were internal links. The only one you completely left out was external.

The forum rules do not forbid posting external links. You yourself have used external links on 2 different occasions (so 10% of the time ruffly). I am not encouraging people to use the item linked as you have pointed out and I have painted a clear picture that it is not a good thing to use and may possibly result in a ban or other corrective action.
