Suggestion: Create a user accessible Log file for the results of a match for ranking, Damage, Kills, ect.
Reason: A Log file can be uploaded to 3rd parties for data analysis and used to keep track of individual match progress and achievements
Currently the forums are littered with posts about a 3rd party website people have been using to track match progress. This website uses a Packet Sniffer to read the results at the end of the match and uploads them to a 3rd party server so that players can track their progress. This is in direct violation of the ToU.
Though there is no harm intended by those who are currently using this there is a possibility that the 3rd party who is taking this data is not as innocent. A key step to making a private server is to snag up information from the packets being sent to a server so you can reverse engineer the server itself. Although the people using "xivpvp.com" are likely not intending to modify the packets to cheat or use the packets to reverse engineer the game. They are still violating the rule and running a 3rd party tool that will result in unknown consequences to their account security and the servers.
By creating a Log file for these stats and for raid stats you can open up opportunity for fan websites and help users maintain account security.
For users who are using the site mentioned above. I strongly advise you stop doing so. If additional warning are wanted view this news post:
Regarding Illegitimate Practices in "The Second Coil of Bahamut" (Apr. 3)
Following the implementation of Patch 2.2, we have identified several parties that used illegitimate practices in “The Second Coil of Bahamut”. As this is a violation of the Terms of Service, 24 service accounts that used such illegitimate practices in “The Second Coil of Bahamut - Turn 3” have been suspended.
※As of April 1, 2014 at 1:00 a.m. (PDT), only two parties have legitimately completed “The Second Coil of Bahamut - Turn 3”. Game data since then has been closely monitored.
Although we will continue to monitor game data to ensure that similar illegitimate practices are not being used, we would like to remind players that using third-party programs, parsers, or other tools to conduct actions players would not normally be able to do in the game is a violation of the Terms of Service, and will be dealt with strict disciplinary action.
Players who discover any confirmed cheats should, under no circumstances, exploit or disseminate such information. Instead, we ask that players file a report by using the in-game command [System Menu] -> [Support Desk] -> [Contact Us] -> [Report Cheating].
