    Astrologian and Gravity (Buff Idea)

    So Astrologian's are the Masters of Time and Fate - and while other healers have side effects with some of their casts (such as Holy with Stun) Gravity doesn't seem to have anything that combines with it.

    While talking with a friend I came up with the idea that since we are masters of time, why not allow Gravity to have a side effect of Slow - but in the sense of Skill/Spell Speed. When used it would slow down the rate of attack for X amount of time, before wearing off so it wasn't just a AoE Damage.

    With Gravity just being a AoE Damage it doesn't feel like there is much to it, adding something else to it would make it feel like it has a utility to it that is also useful and might have people use it more. Imagine running though a dungeon, tank pulls a big group of mobs and the AST was to Gravity that whole group - now you have all those mobs with their spell/skill speed reduced for X time - which is a reduction of damage to that tank for the set time.

    Anyone like this idea, or have another idea as well?

    when I had Astro there Gravity atk.
    I was pretty sure the damage is based on the target his remaining HP in % and or puts weight on the target(s)o_O (as I know it from other games)

    But no!° Its just a regular AoE atk o-o;
    I was a bit sad about it :c

    I think they should give a bonus like that.
    The more HP the more potency it has, like a reversed Essential Dignity.

    I understand that people want interesting spells but please try to look at the balancing issue. No attack spell in the game is hp based. Just no. ..

    Personally I'm fine with how the damage is currently set up. I just would like to see more utility. As a WHM main, I use Holy for more than just dps. As the OP pointed out, since SCH are the DoT masters, some other debuff would make Gravity more interesting.

    A noticeable aoe skill/spellspeed debuff on enemies would make things more interesting. Just like Holy's stun, targets would build up an immunity. I suspect a reduced duration or reduced debuff potency would apply in PvP.

    I'd also appreciate a tweak to that skill's utility. It actually has made me wonder, with Holy and Shadowflare existing, why we didn't quite get a dmg skill that also had some kind of effect like that. Celestial Opposition is fine and all, but I've been craving something that'd allow me to mitigate damage a little more effectively for moments when I wanted to help the party burn some mob down. I'm not sure if it's possible with balancing issues or whatever, but if the devs think it might be fine then I'm all for it.

    Shouldn't it be Heavy because of increased gravitation?

    Mercy Stroke.

    It isn't a completely absurd idea to scale it like Spirits Within except on enemy hp. I don't know if it really needs to be buffed at all, but this wouldn't be the worst way to do it.

    Strictly speaking I don't think AST is lacking anything in utility and its dps is balanced around that utility. Gravity works fine as an AoE and is a necessary skill for AST which lacks other AoEs.
