Fake RNG? Touch at 90% chance with Good and Excellent conditions.

I'm noticing that with Steady Hand + Basic Touch (70+20% Success) I am almost guaranteed to fail with Excellent Condition.
I also seem to fail in Good Condition far more often than 1 out of 9, but I haven't kept track so it may be my imagination.

It is like the RNG isn't truly RNG.

It feels as though the game calculates "when" you will fail rather than rolling the dice at every step.
When you get an Excellent condition it seems you are more likely to fail.

    Anyone have similar experience?

When I get 37 Culinarean, sure.
You know leveling is part of the game too, though, right?

    (1) This has been addressed, and by all technicalities, are are right, in that it isnt truly random. (The simplistic example of what SE uses, was given by a GM)

    (2) There is no such thing is "Random" (which doesnt even make sense by how people have changed the definition over the years, to mean something vague and abstract) there is just an algorithm in place, that you cant easily predict.

For the sake of simplicity, think of a deck of cards. No matter how many times u shuffle the deck, once u stop, to pick up the top card, the top card will always remain the same card. No matter how many times u put it back on top of the pile, and redraw the same card.

Before you know what it is, to you, it seems random, but once u know, it is no longer random.

Over a large enough sample size, the failure rate will average out to 10%.

Sorry TC, it's been quite some time since I got Steady Hand 2, so I cannot really comment upon how things went before then. I simply do not remember. That said, the RNG is known to be quite vindictive, to the point of failing two, three, or even four 95% chance of success RNG calls in a row. The best you can do is to reduce your reliance upon it as much as is humanly possible.

There IS such a thing as a true random number generator, but it's akin to flipping a coin in the air. PROGRAMMABLE random number generators like that used in FF XIV use a "seed" to alter the results the way a Vegas digital poker machine can "change" the odds with a different chip. Another poster referenced it to a deck of cards. Imagine you have two decks, and you're trying to pick the Ace of Spades. One deck has 52 cards, but the other only has 30. YOU picking the right card is strictly "random", but the altered SIZE of the deck you're playing with is not.

If you're incompetent, you can’t know you’re incompetent. The skills you need to produce a right answer are exactly the skills you need to recognize what a right answer is.
