I'm just going to wait till 3.3 myself. I did a bit of house shopping today but failed to pick up any land. That said my PF only has a single person trying to sell. Plus I think I want to try and go for a Medium block and I don't have enough gill for that yet.
Ill be curious if those who bought out empty blocks will actually manage to sell them. It seems a pretty risky investment as those with huge amounts of gil to burn are likely those who do the things like buying up housing and trying to resell it.
That and with new housing coming in, and we're going to likely see some more trickling in from demolitions over the next couple months (but not a lot). Doesn't seem a good idea to waste 30mil to get someone to drop a house when if you just wait a few months you can get one for much less.
Yes it is, and it's totally preventable. One house per account per server (with alts able to access per server) should be the rule and is the rule in any other game I've played that has housing. Not only that, but players should be paying the housing system rather than other players to buy a house. Makes for a good gold/gil sink. And furthermore, housing in other games I've played becomes available as needed, like wards opening up as demand increases, with prices affordable to pretty much anyone who's reached a certain level, say 50 in this game. I've never seen housing as mishandled as it is in this game.
BF managed to snag the last L in the Mist on our server, hooray! Looking forward to helping him decorate. We've been wanting to upgrade for a while.
Like the poster above me, the only housing resells I've seen are a small in the Goblet and a medium in the Goblet, and the guy selling his medium has been trying to do so for the last week, at least (before reclamations began). It looks like most houses that opened up were bought by FCs, at least on my server. Some smalls went to private homeowners, though.

I suppose that in theory, they expected that people would play nice and respect each other when it comes to buying properties and such.
In practice, however...that was simply unrealistic, due to greed (thus, they should've known better).

Me and a fc mate snagged two houses next to each other for 4.2/4.5M. Should have gone to Goblet first since those took the longest to disappear. I guess it depends on the server.
Anyway, I might have found a new thing to do.
Housing is disgusting right now and Personal Housing SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN IMPLEMENTED when it was not ready to come in the game yet. People on servers have FCs with 50-100 people in them and they have to suffer from not owning an FC house because all the plots on all the wards are full, while there are about 50-60% plots owned by people with personal houses. Changing servers isn't an option for people with an FC like mine with 80 players in it.
Come to Goblin?
I am in Ward 2 and half the houses are on sale.
Smaller server = get a house.
Again..Server transfers aren't possible with FCs that contain 80 players in them..
