People who move to EU server should be able to take their items from private room

I spent a lot of gill and crafted millions of gill worth items for my private room. SE now opened EU data centre and almost all EU players moved so I am going to move as well or I can't really play this game anymore bar public holidays. Server is empty in EU prime time so I am forced to move and lose all the items. I don't see it as fair that people lose such items when you consider the circumstances of having to move.

You should have made a character on an EU server since transfers were on the cards since 2.0 launch however the housing system is a complete joke.

2.0 server infrastructure might be better than 1.0 but it's ridiculously antiquated with all these restrictions they have.

The EU server was initially hosted in US so was not very advantageous to be on, but as of September 2015 the Chaos data centre was moved to Europe. It was on the cards but nobody would act based on that, nobody did. The point is we should be able to take our stuff with us because as a player in Europe it is not my fault only recently we got our own data centre.

I don't get it. You were playing on NA server, where you're aiming to play in EU prime time? Why not just play on EU servers from the get go then?

I can understand those who work shifts, and are free when EU servers are silent. That was the point of the transferring.. However, I'm not sure why you're complaining. More so, If you went out and spent more gil on housing items, long after they said EU servers were coming...

Furthermore, I do think housing items shouldn't be able to be put on MB once being placed in a house/traded to other players. However, it shouldn't be destroyed. That way people can keep their stuff, and not worry about having to redo once placed/moving to another home.

I think there are different circumstances on your server since you are on Chaos data centre but on Excalibur it was very populated at NA or EU times, but the last couple of months all EU players moved as the EU server that was hosted in America moved to Europe. Excalibur was regarded as an EU/NA server but now it is NA only. EU players forced to leave their housing items behind. As Excalibur was NA and EU at 2.0 launch, it automatically put us on it because of that. there were no dedicated EU servers until September 2015. there were some servers advertised as EU servers but most people didn't take them seriously when they were hosted in America, mainly PS3 and PS4 users were put on there when they started afterwards. It is dates back from server mergers from 1.xx... that is why it is mainly PC users affected since console gamers weren't playing FF14 in the 1.xx stage.

It's not like it even requires a hard solution. Have a housing NPC that remembers what of yours was destroyed, and lets you buy them back at 1 gil each. Even if it required some sort of manual destruction to be done, it would be a heck of a lot better than blasting them from existence.

please tell me. who is not going to use furnishings out of the off chance there will be an exodus of EU players on their server? kind of tin hat talk don't you think? jeez.. how about reasonable solutions such as Arashmin said and let players buy back their items for 1 gill since players had no way of knowing about the data centre changes years before they happened? rather than blame the players who lost out due to changes outside player control.
