PLD Sword is really great compared to Eso Hauntclaire. I had planned to use Hauntclaire Awoken w/ 210 Prytwen but tbh...
I love the shiny shine. Moar shiny shine...

Yeah, the secondary stats on the Anima relics seems to be pure arse for the majority of the jobs in game. But, then, the Zodiac relic was exactly the same for most of its life. Hopefully there will be a customizable phase that is less painful than the Zodiac version.
Ha! Who am I kidding?! It's going to be just as bad, if not worse! I can't believe that I managed to type that with a straight face!
I LIKE the fence. I get 2 groups to laugh at then.
Want better weapon, do Thordan Ex or A4S... It's that simple.
That's aside from unknown tank re-balance changes coming in 3.2.
They can obviously not put the same stats on all weapons of the same tier.
Some weapons BiS from Thordan, some other weapons BiS from A4S, some other BiS from relic quest... While it results in complaints from people like you, if A4S had all BiS stats and Thordan/Relic had strictly worse in all cases, there'd be much more complaining from people like you.
Det was the most important stat for Fairy healing though in 2.x. I don't know if it still is as good in 3.x as they messed with stats so much that SCH is still not pinned down. Once the Omnilex was customisable most went for a crit/det, crit/acc or crit/det/acc build. Yeah, SS was cack in 2.x but a lot of our gear did have Crit, unlike much 3.x gear. =(
The pld sword relic stats are this way because the Gordian Blade exists with Crit/Det. They were able to give the Thordan sword Crit/Det because it was 5 item levels lower. If they had made the Gordian Blade 215, they could have offered better stats on the 210 relic. The good news is that they stated they made that mistake and it will be different in Alexander Midas where the weapon will most likely be 5 ilvls higher (guessing) than tome.
In summary, the development team feels that the difficulty level of Alexander: Gordias (Savage) and the item level of the rewards for this content were poorly set, and as a result it largely affected the content that came afterwards.
Based on the feedback that we have been receiving, we will be lowering the difficulty of Alexander: Midas (Savage) that will be implemented in Patch 3.2, while simultaneously setting the item level of the Savage weapon and the item level of the new Allagan tomestone weapon to be different. We would like to revamp the overall balance moving forward with these changes.
It don't bother me. I still enjoy my PLD for what it does as a tank. If I want to dps, that's what I have NIN for lol...

Let's look at all 3 of Paladin's 210 swords and compare it to the other two tanks here:
Paladin:
Gordian Blade: Crit+73, Det+49
Hauteclaire: Parry+51, Det+69
Almace: Crit+51, SkS+73
Warrior:
Gordian Axe: Det+68, SkS+102
Parashu: Parry+71, Crit+102
Ukonvasara: Crit+71, Det+97
Dark Knight:
Gordian Greatsword: Parry+102, Det+68
Deathbringer: Crit+71, SkS+102
Nothung: Crit+71, Det+97
So I really don't see the issue here, each tank has a great weapon (for Paladin that is the Gordian Blade), an okay weapon (Almace) and an avoidable weapon (Hauteclaire). Are people really complaining that the anima weapon doesn't have the exact same stats as the A4S weapon, if stats mean that much to you then get a group and progress through A1S to A4S and get yourself that crit det weapon you want, I recommend it.
Not really a fair comparison, as most of these relics are best in slot currently.
Hell, the scholar anima is the ONLY SCHOLAR BOOK above 190 that has crit on it.
That's stupid.
