There's so much that could be done thematically if we were to get Nero in the party as a proponent of full technological deregulation, paired off with a Sharlayan Archon in favor of total unified control (you know, like that one). So much potential, but then I'm reminded that Heavensward didn't have the most elegant solution to the Estinien/Ysayle dynamic.

The backstory for the Circle of Knowing, combined with the shenanigans of the Astrologian storyline, kind of gives me the impression that we'll see Sharlayan move into an antagonistic position, but only once we've weakened the Empire enough for them to sweep in and clean up.

I wouldn't rule it out. The Shalayans share a view of looking down on the other nations of Hydaelyn. The main difference is the Shalayans seem to want nothing to do with them rather than to rule them. I could see the Shalayans actually taking a more 'Brotherhood of Steel' role where they try and forcefully deny or seize knowledge or magic from Eorzea because they don't feel that the Eorzean people are wise enough to have access to such knowledge rather than conquest.

I noticed something after I was DCed a few times and had to stare at the Sea of Clouds loading screen for a while. The Antitower might, might be in the Sea of Clouds. If you look at the artwork there is an inverted tower on the underside of floating islands, it like in the dead center of the image too. Anyone have any thoughts.

It's possible. Though since it's a Sharlayan building I imagine it's more likely to be in the Dravanian Hinterlands as a construct that burrows deep into the earth itself.
