New(?) Mansion-Type Housing Clarification Request

We have confirmed that we will be increasing the amount of land for existing housing areas in Patch 3.3. After this we’re planning to introduce mansion type housing, and housing in the Ishgard area. These two are being developed in parallel, but in order to meet everyone’s demand, we will implement the mansion-type housing as a first priority. Currently it’s being planned that one mansion will be able to hold 512 residences. As for gardening, we think this will be difficult, but we’re currently developing new pots that will allow gardening, so please look forward to this.

What is the difference between this "mansion-type" housing and the mansions (large houses) that already exist in the game?

I'm assuming it's like purchasing an apartment, except instead of an apartment complex, its a mansion. Another assumption is that there will be more mansions somehow.

Although that Ishgard housing AND increased amount of land in current housing areas got me more excited.

From what they are saying i get the impression its something like an expanded private room in your fc house. No outside area/garden though.
Sounds a lot like the instanced housing that is being asked for by a lot of people.

The Japanese meaning of the word "mansion" differs from what we think of when seeing the word mansion (large house)

"mansion-type housing" is just private chambers without the requirement of being in a Free Company that owns a house.

Would have been better translated into "studio apartments" but at least I learned something today. I wonder if there will be a common room for the apartments, that might be fun for people to hang out near their neighbors.
