shouldve played 1.0 then. Nael van Darnus was basically sephirothI know its Sephirot, but a small part of me still wants to beat up FFVII's Sephiroth again. As if I didn't beat him enough times on Proud and Critical modes in Kingdom Hearts.
Edit: Offtopic but you could basically steal the entire fight from Kingdom Hearts I or II and just rebalence it for eight players and magic users and boom! T'was an excellent fight. I can imagine the rage on the forums from all the people who keep wiping to Sin Heartless Angel already. Hell, it could make as much sense as his appearance in Kingdom Hearts I and I wouldn't care. Just drop him in Alex Savage for all I care with zero explanation and I would eat that shit up.
So, Sephirot is gonna show up. We're gonna have an epic duel. Then, in a dramatic twist at the end, Sephiroth shows up and dices Sephirot into pieces and says: "Look. Now you've been cut up into episodes too." Then he exits stage left, and we all realize that this was just one big advertisement for the remake of FFVII...
Seriously though, I was kind of hoping that the Warring Triad would be at least a Raid, not a Trial, but I guess this is fine. Do we have a date on any of this content yet?

It depends. I think what they are doing is rather than making all these plot thread official "MSQ" they are breaking them up into side quest chains that run along side it. For example, I found that while its a sidequest, the Scholisticate quests are actually quite relevant to the plot of the main story, particularly in 3.1. In a way, they are a deeper dive into the social and cultural upheaval affecting Ishgard played out through the interactions of the future clergy.
I'm expecting the we will see other plot threads play out the same way. They won't be 'official Main Scenario' but they will be very relevant.
On a side note, they did say the Antitower will be part of the MSQ and since we are apparently leading towards the climax of the Dragonsong war Im guessing its related to what Nidhogg is up to. However I have no idea what it could be.

Would likely be called Sephirot. Sephiroth is the English localization of a Japanese translation of a Hebrew word. No need to call it Sephiroth unless they want to reference the actual FFVII character directly. The English FF7 localization team probably translated it as Sephiroth because it's easier to pronounce and actually sounds more like a given name.

Nope. Seraphim/Seraph has nothing to do with Sephiroth/Sephirot. Seifer means book in hebrew, but it lacks an r like seraphim which is hebrew for the 6winged angels. The italian version translates it as Seraph Sephiroth, but that doesn't make it accurate... for example Spanish version calls it Sephiroth Dios or "God Sephiroth"Yes, Sephiroth is based on Seraphim (Six Winged Angels) where as the member of the Triad is directly named after The Sephirot which is the also called The Tree of Life in Kabala.
In game Safer Sephiroth has 7 wings, not 6.
Japanese:
"セーファ・セフィロス", or "Sēfa Sefirosu";
セラフ= Serafu
If Square wanted it to be Seraph Sephiroth, he would be セラフ・セフィロス or Serafu Seifirosu not Sēfa Sefirosu

So how is Masayoshi Soken gonna handle the music here?

Not strictly lore related but my god I'm hoping for a remix of Battle to the Death for these three.
I'd happily wipe to that for hours.

YES! First phase: slow paced mechanic battle with a remix of Catastrophe + Second to final phase: brutal battle with a remix of Battle to the Death. I'm dying here!
I like that they're separating the two. This way they dont have to worry about trying to weave it into the main narrative, where it'd seem out of place or tacked on, but instead give it its own self-contained plotline. If this Antitower thing turns out to be the MSQ trial equivalent, then cool as the basic quest structure won't change.

The Antitower will be a dungeon. It is one of the new dungeons we are getting alongside Lost City of Amdipor HM.I like that they're separating the two.
