There is actually some small precedent for this. The Zeta stage was incredibly short compared to all of the ones before it but followed one of the more involved stages, so it's possible they're doing something like that again to a degree. I do think it's safe to say the feedback they got regarding the questline as it is now will be taken into account, so I don't think it's entirely impossible that some of the future stages will require at least somewhat less time and/or money.
