Correct me if I read your message wrong, but how is it insignificant to talk about the most relevant content for end game players right now? It has been a discussed topic nearly every day and yes many people have quit over it's poor raid structure.

Now the team is doing poor balancing again in the other direction. They care way too much that their casual base gets 100% of the content instead of the 95% they already have. So yes, it was something that needed to be addressed because it has gotten bad to the point that some servers end game wise are barren now because people want to jump ship to populated end game servers. Now is their solution the right one? No, they are just going to have the new Alex(Normal) be irrelevant content in just a few short weeks and many are going to beat Alex(Savage) before the next patch and complain there is nothing hard in the game.

At least with Alex(Normal) being on par with Final Coil and Alex(Savage) on par with Savage is now, maybe even a little harder, this would definitely stretch the content out two patches. Then when the next raids come out, you put a echo buff on Normal Mode, and don't touch Savage except put an ilvl on it so you can't out gear the content, always giving hardcore players something to go back to if they didn't complete it.

I'm sorry, I shouldn't be speaking common sense, SE obviously doesn't listen to it.
