This is too true. Not just even about relics as well. I'm sure a lot of us are wondering about the longevity of the crafted red scrip gear, considering the grind and investment required to craft those. It would also be nice to hear _anything_ about the shortcomings of the specialist system in general.
(I'd be extremely happy hearing that specialist recipes were going bye-bye, but they've already doubled-down on it so I'm pretty sure they're here to stay.)

Can we stop designing content with everybody and nobody in mind.

I'm really disappointed in alexander so far! The mechanics are stale and boring. SCOB and FCOB are more fun! I hope they change direction in the next set of alexander raids. Also for 24 man content Void Ark was Blah! More content other than mindless grinds please!
Everything is going to be a grind anyway.
Relic was always a hardcore weapon throughout all the FF series I don't know why that had to change. The original relic at the start was fun had small challenging fights Hydra and Chimera then it got more challenging with the primals, after that it faded off to a complete chore of going over the same content over and over again.
Also you say you didn't want us to have hard fights yet made the primals an option for collecting the lights. I don't mind the weapon having small/medium grinds but break it up with NM fights in between. We already have a weapons to grind on for casuals and those are the weapons available from tomes.
During the times of FF 11 SE was known for making some of the most difficult bosses in MMORPGS this is what most people have come to expect. The thing that drove players away from 11 was grinding, please don't make the same mistake. Also I know you guys have the imagination to make things easy and challenging at the same time or have you forgotten about things like Parradamo Tor. The game is also too predictable the same thing every update from 2.0 onwards crystal tower type raid > a new primal > coil type. Diadem looked really fun at first would of been better with trigger pop NMS though in my opinion.
Also please remove the silly caps of 1 per week or x amount of tomes etc. I would rather pay more for an item and be able to get it at whatever pace I want to.

TBH the relic grind is easy compare to the original stage where we need to farm up 75 alex and 75 materia.
Somewhat a matter of opinion.
The alexandrite themselves was easy; if all you did was run an expert dungeon each day, even without spending any of your tomestones on additional maps, you'd be done in 75 days. Those same 75 expert dungeons wouldn't even get you 10% of the way through the final anima quest.
I know that, for me, making the gil for the materia (or spiritbonding for them) was a lot easier and faster than the other 90% of the anima quest would be.

in the same way with Alexandrite also is the beast tribes bare in mind, 80 days gets you all 80 tokens providing you do them once a day and have them at rank 3 and above , thing is. its not fun. where as you was going to do expert for alex anyway for your tomes, where as beast tribes you get nothing but rep if not leveled.

It isn't really about how much grinding you have to do. It is how SE's structures these relic quests in general. Grind is a given, it has to exist in some form with a quest like this. Creating interesting content in between the grinds is what helps it not feel like only a painfully repetitive chore. There is no fun to be had in this at all. It is even more sad that SE says it has to be not fun. We know they are very capable of doing a fun relic quest line, 2.0's first reilc quest is a show of this. Now its built specifically for people who can't handle even the simplest of content. People not willing to hit more than one button.
It is sad, the dev team should be working on ways to influence people to challenge themselves, not just dropping the difficulty or just simply grind to win. Put some Chimeras and Hydras back into the relic quests. Have primals be relevant in some way. You release Bismark EX and it is dead content on arrival, only serving the purpose at the time before you changed it as a gateway to Ravana EX. Throw them into the mix. Why are you even getting an ilvl210 weapon in the first place if you are not even going to use it for content like this?
