    Padjals please!!

I know we've hardly moved away from the topics begging for male Miqote to be playable. I also realize I know very little about Padjal lore. I also apologize if this topic has been raised before.

But please oh please make them playable!!

I know the Devs have replied saying that other races may be possible if they're in high demand after male Miqote, female Roegadyn and highlanders get implemented with 2.0. So I want to start a post here to start that high demand to bring Padjals playable. I'd love to see them playable at the start of 2.0 but if that's not possible, help me make enough noise to get it in as soon as is possible.

From what I have seen of Padjal's they seem so cool. They're short, but not Lalafell short, and they have horns. Their horns are such a unique feature that makes them different yet not over the top.

So thumbs up and comment if you want them playable.

I would love to play padjal but I don't think the lore supports it. They're chosen by the Twelveswood and there are very, very few of them around.

As I said, I don't know much about the lore... but I knew it was bad news like this.

Even if the current lore doesn't support it though, doesn't mean it can't be tweaked. If enough people want them I'm sure Square Enix can think of something. Maybe after the events leading up to 2.0 padjals become more common for some reason. Or perhaps padjals from a different land come to Eorzea.

Keep in mind, at least some races need to be off limits for lore purposes, otherwise the characters aren't as special. Sometimes that race difference is their entire identity, pretty much. (Like Gridania's padjal dude, whoever he is when he's not... padjaling around...)

The whole thing about the PS3 races is that we felt it was ridiculous to let us choose a race... but limit the gender. Even form a lore standpoint, the justifications were tenuously liked to lore, at best.

Yeah, and the male miqote, etc will get the priority. But they did say they are looking into the idea of implementing other races as playable.

There will always be races that aren't playable, for instance, I can't play as a primal, or a beastmen. Those are a lot more understandable then baring us from playing Padjals. They may be few, but they're not so special that making them playable would destroy their identity. Padjals are not that different from the current playable races. In my opinion it'd make more sense to have Padjal playable before beastmen though I know a lot of people could want to play as them too.

NPC Explanation: "In Gridania, there are those blessed by the forest. They are known as the Padjal. The touch of the elementals causes horns to sprout from their heads. They are ageless children, fluent in the tongue of the forest."

It could be worked into the lore for Padjals to exist, but it'd be awkward. You'd be coming into the game already way more special than everyone else (and probably a leader of Gridania, if the city still exists, lol). On top of this, the lore seems to indicate that any of the 5 races can become padjal, and that they get their horns as a result.

I guess, if they really, really, really wanted to - they could say that the elementals freaked out and Padjal'd a whole bunch of people to keep the voice of the forest alive after... you know... SE destroys the shroud and all...

I don't think it will just be The Black Shroud that gets destroyed. I think every town is going to take damage. I would think they could EASILY implement them in the game and make it work. They are no more special then cat men. They themselves said everyone is equal.

I'd really love to see playable Padjals for 2.0, as well as other demi-human races. This Eorzea needs MOAR peoples
