I don't care for excessive blood myself, but if you seriously think the huge reason of people quitting is blood, you need to expand your horizontals and see the bigger picture to why people actually quit:

RMT is still out of control
There's still a big debate over what the end game and midcore content should be and how they should be made
Inventory limitations is still a hassle
You still can't exchange items between your own characters
Relic 3.0 is just 2.0 relic grinds all over again
No way to filter tells or other messages
Forums still using 1000 character limits and posting restrictions
etc etc


Out of all that, blood is going to be the least of peoples' problems. Ergo, you're quite wrong to think blood alone is going to drive people away when most people today are so darn desensitized to it in media.

So, in a game where one of the major elements is to go around the world slaughtering critters of all sorts, you'd prefer we come through the other side of the battlefield covered in rainbows and leprechaun gold? This isn't My Little Pony Online; give us some blood!

Game would probably be rated M at that point. Not sure how the esrb works but yeah...

Not going to lie this sounds like you only want people who agree with you to post. Going to be a pretty one sided discussion then.

I have to agree with one of your common answers. There are far more important stuff needing changed or added into the game before this.

Don't get me wrong I wouldn't say no to this addition but logically it has to be way down the list of stuff to add/change.

I said that because this isn't a "Will it ever happen" thread. Its a suggestion. If I wanted people to agree with me I wouldn't of asked if anyone wanted to add any other cool ideas instead of demanding these ideas to happen.

I've never understood why some people like to see blood and gore flying across the screen. Since they would be utterly horrified to see such things in reality, I often wonder why people use the argument of immersion. Why would you want to be immersed in something that in real life would horrify you?

Either way, there are games, plenty of them, that cater to the thirst for blood. This isn't one of them and long may it remain that way.

Yep, yep and yup. Maybe not quitting, but some countries may be against it leaving some censor issues. Besides theirs plenty of ff games with no blood in it, besides type-0 (which is bland in the blood to begin with). Quick note: when I said gunk, I was referring to things they spew at us, not their insides

Excess blood is usually what pushes a game to an M rating. I remember reading how Tomb Raider Anniversary had to basically scrap most of its blood in order to keep the game rated T. I'm sure Square wants to keep the game as accessible as possible, so they wouldn't be pushing the ratings for the sake of bloody immersion.

Blood & gore would have major consequences for the game, with some geographical areas limiting the sale or banning it altogether. I'm over 18 (cough) but don't have a credit card anymore; it's quite likely that the subscription would have to be paid by credit card *in the player's name* to ensure only adults could play. That would be incredibly detrimental to the player base & eventually be uses by SE higher ups as an excuse to reduce funding (lower player count).

Everything has consequences, even seemingly small & unimportant things like introducing gore.

This game deserves a luxury treatment, I'd wish to see it if not rebuilt at least updated with an Ultra HD texture pack so it would look just as good if not better than the upcoming FFXV, this way it could keep compatibility with weaker systems if they could not handle better graphics without limiting the game's potential thus rendering any excuses to not do it futile!...

Ideally it will be rebuilt using Vulkan & HD textures (right now some are pre-Y2k quality . That would future proof it & allow it to run better on poorer hardware than it currently does.

As a warrior main, nothing would please me more to see it in there.

Doesn't Squall get his face carved the F open in like the first 2 minutes of FF8? Also lion guy eviscerates himself in FFT to summon Jesus. There's blood and gore in FF occasionally.
