NPC for expired player

I wanted to request an NPC be placed in memory of a player who died Sept. of last year.

He played FFXIV as much as he could up until his hospital visits prevented him from playing. He died of cancer in Sept. 2014.

I was hoping I could request that his character be made into an NPC in his memory.

If this is not the right place to make such a request, please direct me to the proper contact.

Interesting. I would also like the same information. We lost an fc member in November. We discussed making a retainer for our yard so he could be with us always. We settled on a fountain in the yard. This info would be nice. I'm sorry for the loss of your friend.

Thank you for your response. Me and a few others do miss our buddy. Even when he was feeling ill, in pain, and/or dealing with personal problems. He was always cheerful and positive and encouraged others to be optimistic as well.
Whenever anything related to him comes up, it reminds me to stay positive.

He was also very supportive of our community, he always did his best to help us out even when our FC membership dropped. He was passionate about our philosophy of our group and wanted it to succeed. When people tell me to just quit the FC and move to another, I tell them no and that I will upkeep our FC.

He remained positive and played with me and others till he couldn't log on anymore due to hospital visits. And while in the hospital he stayed in contact via facebook till he was no longer able to use a computer. He left us with a smile and optimism.

I think a guy like him deserves an NPC to immortalize his character (as a person and his actual in-game character).

Not sure what they could do or add, it would have to be something that could be utilized for any player that passes, so an npc more then likely isnt as realistic as some other form of memorial for them.

I too lost a very close friend who played this game, Those that knew him and played this and other games with him were literally gutted when he passed. It was heartbreaking.

Someone suggested before, a type of memorial portrait/furniture piece that could possible be added/crafted to remember those that have passed on, someway to remember them ...not sure what would be realistic tbh, but something would be nice for all of them. yeah.

It is not an unreasonable request. Other games have added NPCs based on the characters of deceased players. And the NPC doesn't have to be integral to a story or quest or the player's progression (there are many NPCs you can talk to that never have quests or items for sale).
What I would like is for Echota to become an NPC that you can talk to. And he would have words of encouragement to players who speak with him.

I tried emailing customer service regarding this. But I keep getting a generic template message back. Which directs me to the forums. But do any SE officials actually check these and respond to these requests on the forums?
Also does anyone know a good point of contact for such a particular request?

First off.... I'm truly sorry you lost your friend. Though some time may have passed, I'm sure you think of them on a daily basis.

Personally, I would like to keep this thread alive and hope it gains some traction with the community. So much negativity of late. It would be nice for everyone to use their voices for something as positive as this.

I got a proper response from customer service. They said they do not have the authority to grant the request and were unable to forward the request to the development team. They suggested making a forum post.

Is there any other contact anyone knows of to contact the development team directly?

I hope we can get somewhere with this. I also hope everyone had a good Christmas.

Anyone have any new ideas how to push this request up SE's chain of command?
After three years, I still haven't figured out a way to submit a request like this formally.
