Could we have some "casual" content for 50s?

A pattern I'm noticing with this game is that with the updates we're getting a lot of stuff for people in the 20s, or people capped out at 50 that requires large groups. I would like to see some middle ground.

I don't doubt that as more updates come new GC ranks will start to see R30 and R40 missions, but I would like to see some nice content that a light party or even 2-3 50s could decide to do when we're bored.

For example, with these new instanced raids coming in 1.21, I am really hoping it is not just another R25-30 light party and a 45-50 full party. How about a R35-40 light party raid? So a linkshell could say "hey who wants to do a raid?" If 8 ppl say me, they could do darkhold. If only 4 ppl, you could do the new one.

Or perhaps an instanced area similiar to dynamis where the win rewards you with progression that you need a lot of ppl (say full party in this game) to take down, but there are also chests with crap rare/ex items. Then make small NMs around the map that you essentially need to "farm" to get some special rare/ex materia that you would trade to an outside NPC to upgrade the chest items.

Make it so its almost impossible to kill all the small NMs in one run, or kill any of them if going for the big boss. That way if you want the clear or big bosses loot, you get an 8 man party to go for that. If you want to farm for gear upgrades, you could get a full party or you could just go in with a light party and aim for one of the smaller NMs.

This is just a rough idea, but the basic concept is some R50 content that a small group could be put together to do that is rewarding, casual, and a bit of a time sink.

I agree, but they should also just reduce the amount of players that can enter dungeons to 1. Let people choose, keep difficulty how it is but at least you can attempt it.

I think we'll have to wait until 2.0+ before we get decent setup that can allow for automatic balancing.

    small vs large =/= casual

you can easily get into ANY of the content with a group if you can find one(usualy its not hard to find one alot of people wanna do new stuff especialy)

and if ifrit is a bit beyond your reach, try the strongholds

you can do them, they are endgame, they dont require 8 people to go into(though it helps alot)

not everything is gonna be super easy and accessible just by walking up to it yourself unfortunately, but that doesnt make it non casual

Hmm, I went to strong hold with my friend and just duoing we couldnt get past the first gate, eventually some others came and stormed through so we walked in but then got linked to crap on first pull and died. Really doable XD Respawn way to fast.

Also no one will do the 25 dungeon anymore haha. I cant even get people to do NMs!

+1 to this! I have a lot of fun playing with a big group, but for L50 battlecraft it seems like if you want to "get something done" you need a full party or even more. It is so fun to do Toto-Rak or Shposhae with a few friends, and also easy to coordinate; I wish there was something like that for the higher ranks.

As the OP says, something that can be done in a small party would be great. Even in a casual/social linkshell, it is pretty easy to get together 2-4 L50's. 8, not so much.

I think you're misunderstanding what I'm saying. I don't want everything super easy and accessible by walkin up myself, but I would like some content where yes I can log on and get a small group of 50s to participate in that is fairly repeatable. In a way smaller groups IS more casual because it's easier to find people for.

Maybe you have a larger LS or FL than me, but from where I stand in the game no it is not easy to put together a full party to do these things. I don't mind that there is content designed this way, I just wish there was also content designed that smaller groups can participate in as well. Assault or Campagn from XI are great examples.

Grinding materia is pretty casual, do it by yourself if you want.

The strongholds are pretty casual. In fact, due to the linking system, smaller parties are less chaotic. You can even solo some of the key mobs. Can do your materiapo there too.

I'm seeing trend here where people/player/gamers don't like restrictions or limitations. I also see there's a lax of patience (even before the game becomes official).
    One:
-The challenge for big groups is to inspire teamwork. If curtain dungeons doesn't require a group of 4-8 adventurers, you'd most like be inviting RMT or spammers of (say lv. 20-40, if it wasn't restricted).
    Two:
    - Time will tell when low level dungeons will be available for those in their 20s and 30s up to level 40. What's dungeon for if it only needs 1 dude/chick to go in and waste other peoples time by waiting for him/her to be done.
    Three:
    - I think SE it doing their best managing the chronological order of which to put out content and controlling its use. It's called player traffic control (especially during the free period). It's all still in testing and tweeting minor issues.

There's many things to go and do as a single player and for those who can't enjoy these commodities in a group, please find a link-shell for crying out loud. For the sake of all that is MMO and social related, get friends!

We all started out alone at some point but some were blessed with social playing skills, try to learn from them. It's what the MMO was designed to do. Mingle!

Okay, I think SE will also try to discourage monopolizing areas and the use of dungeons for personal gain. Also, (just like FFXIs BCNM fights) if you want something, there has to be a level restriction/ level cap for the area to make it challenging. Bring it, if you think you have what it takes, you have to role with the punches!

It's a MMORPG my fellow gamers, why demand everything on a silver plate? You have to earn your keep. Be fair and see and let us see how SE DEV team expands and lowers the prerequisites for curtain game content in the future.

You can always try the oldest NMs or Faction NMs, with the Faction NM is pretty obvious casual (You can do it any time you want provided you get the credit and 1 leve allowance and there's no party restriction, it belongs to you alone). And some of the oldest NMs crafted are quite good, like Dodore (Highest Craftsmanship body), Axe, Scimitar or Lance (meldable and lvl 50, beat the generic crafting lvl 49). Silver Tricorne and Mosshorn Mail are decent but they lack the desirable stat, on the other hand they are also Meldable.
