Beast Tribe Quests

Why do the old beast tribe quests only give you 5 points while the Vanu Vanu gives you 50?? Its taking FOREVER for me to rank up enough to get the currency required to buy the tokens for the Relic quest. :/ I'm really bummed, I wish I knew beforehand that the beast tribe quests would be needed one day. I didn't join FFXIV til 2.5 when Beast Tribe quests weren't needed for anything besides their expensive mounts? I wouldn't mind the grind to rank up beast tribes because I'm actually starting to enjoy the story of it but its so slow compared to the Vanu Vanu. :/

The older ones were a test to see how to do them properly, so the amaljaa, and Sylph ones feel like they take forever, and they will. But you can also do 6 quests each for these tribes, not just 3 like with the Vanu.

Actually, you can even do 9 daily quests for them when you are rank 3. Furthermore, max rank for the initial 4 beast tribes is 4, while max rank for the Ixali is 7 and max rank for the Vanu Vanu is 8.
There is a way to bring every tribe reputation to 8 (i.e. the initial 4 and the Ixali) but it is not related to spamming daily quests.

Yeah, it's unfortunate how slow it is. I got Amal'jaa up to Rank 2 in 2.x before deciding the rewards weren't worth it. It's fun to go back as lvl 60 and roflstomp through those lvl 48 enemies.

Once you get to Rank 3 with a 2.x beast tribe, do you get a token with every quest completion, like the Vanu Vanu? If so, with 6 completions per day, it's going to be so much faster getting Relic items through the Amal'jaa than the Vanu Vanu.

Can you do 9 quests per day with one Eorzean beast tribe? Or does it have to be spread 6 for one, 3 for another? Hopefully I don't have to level up another tribe to make use of all 9

Pretty sure it's 9 with one beast tribe. I'm not that high yet, but I know there are 3 levels.
It's supposed to take 10 days per rank if you use all of the quests for the tribe you're leveling.

You get 12 beast tribe quest allowances per day in total. The 2.X beast tribes have a distinct NPC for each new rank you achieve (up to 3 for the first four beast tribes) which will each generate 3 new quests on the daily reset. If you accept all of the quests from all of those NPCs, you can use 9 allowances on one tribe.

That being said, only the third tier (level 48) quests will give you the tokens used for relic progression. If you have the third tier unlocked for a particular tribe, it's a more efficient use of your allowances to just do the level 48 quests and use your other allowances to build rank with the other tribes. At max rank, you get just enough allowances per day to do the three level 48 quests for sylphs, Amalj'aa, kobolds, and sahagin, which are collectively the most efficient way to get the relic items assuming that you need to build up your stock of them evenly. If you are getting them from other sources (for instance, if you get more law than poetics from the other content you do or vice versa) then it can be useful to grab Vanu tokens instead. The items cost more Vanu tokens than the others (18 Vanu whitebones vs 13 of any of the other tokens), but you can get any of the unidentifiable items this way.

My personal strategy at this point has been to grab all of the 2.X quests but replace any specific ones I don't want to do (e.g. the FATE-based ones when it's not up) with Vanu quests.

FYI - When the old quests were new, Yoshi did say doing them would have something good in the future. ^^;
