No, at the end of the day ANY player should know the risks of queuing in a duty finder. Namely what the majority agrees to... is law, and enforced as law even by GMs. Either guarantee you are the majority (party finder), or suck it up. Fast queues wouldn't exist without the generosity of veteran tome farmers.

Im not saying we should force you to skip cutscenes, take an hour for all we care. We will clear the path ahead, regardless. You are welcome.

You are insinuating that I don't think new players should also know the risks of getting a speed run. I don't disagree with you all you dd was expand my point to a generalization. Which I don't disagree with.

OP. Save the URL for your thread, so you don't lose it. Now play the game for the next couple of years, running CM every few days. If you really want to replicate the experience, you should to run it repeatedly for a couple of weeks first, as if it was one of very few decent sources of a tome-like currency. Then come back and read your post again. It'll be really interesting to see if it has changed your viewpoint.

I doubt it will, I'm a very patient person and will likely pull out my phone and watch something on youtube while the new player is watching the cutscene.

Plus even if I skip cutscenes I still get left behind because my computer is slow.

I think I was in your party for Praetorium.

It's an unfortunate situation to be sure. New players want to fully experience the climax of the story while older players don't want their dailies to drag on longer than they need to.

I don't mind waiting myself. I usually just do something on my laptop while I wait for people to watch the cutscenes.

At least SE learned their lessen after these two dungeons and the rest of the content leaves the long scenes for before and after the instances.

I thought you could start an instance when someone is viewing the initial cs. I guess this must be able the additional cutscenes.

Again its what the majority of the party at that moment decides to do. If people want to go idle but more than half wants to go on ahead, they can and will. With little to no consequence. I've heard Praetorium being 3-manned while still level capped.

New players who want to experience the bosses can do it on the subsequent 32 thousand trips.

Honestly, I wish there was an option to either revoke any tomestones of poetics from quick completion or prevent people from starting bosses until cutscenes are done being watched.

This would just lead to one of two things:

1) Less people queueing up for the roulette overall, leading to long queue times
2) New people getting kicked when they revoke the tome bonus

Both of these are worse than what we have now. Honestly, most people don't count on that bonus being there when we queue up. We go in for the 120 poetics for the roulette and/or exp on alt classes. It's a happy surprise when the bonus poetics shows up, sure, but 100 poetics really isn't worth the extra 30+ minutes to me. If I knew there was a possibility of essentially being held hostage through an hour plus dungeon run I'd just skip out on MS Roulette, relic be damned. There's way more efficient ways to get poetics.

When members of my FC get to this point in the story, we run them undersized with an all FC party to make sure they don't end up running it in DF and getting rushed through it. DF is in the land of majority rules, and this only serves to highlight the bad design in Castrum and Praetorium. From a storytelling standpoint it's great, and it could be a lot of fun if the entire party was new (i.e. at release), but it just doesn't weather the test of time well and only leads to discontent between newbies and veterans.
