While his approach was.... a bit heavy, I do feel that this would be a poor idea.

It would indeed be a nightmare to balance and would promote large pulling in dungeons where new tanks should be learning the basics of combo's and aoe tanking. It wouldn't give those new players a chance to learn the base skills that are necessary to build a foundation. Instead it would be a frustrating exercise in futility that would make new players feel like they don't matter.

The point of the level sync is to put people on a more level playing field so that even new players will have a chance to learn the basics of their jobs. If you took that away from them, then not only would it bite you later ( since you'd have people that were just PL'd through dungeons and don't know how to play properly), but it would undermine the importance of the team as opposed to the individual.

That being said, it would be fine if it was off the DF. If you could queue dungeons as a group then that would be fine, additionally I think it should require a clear to be able to open it up as an option. All the classes are not balanced well until they are in the 50-60 range. For example, having a SMN and NIN that are top loading single target and aoe target dmg would be the most frustrating experience to a new lvl 30 PLD that has no access to shield oath.
