Look at one of the tabs that offers Tharavian Mist and Enchanted Ink.The 3.3 step in the anima is extremely confusing to me since I dont craft or gather. Most of the items that are exchangeable for crystal sand, I have never seen before. I dont collect materia, or farm the ARR primals. So starting out, I have nothing to exchange. I liked the last 2 steps because I could just do dailies and buy the pieces with Esoterics. guess I have to start actually trying now.
That one you can buy with Poe tomes in Mor Dhona. Think it's 550 Poe Tomes in total to get the items in question. That's one way to get it. =)

There is an option to get the sand in almost the same manner. You can get it with your 6 levequest allowances per day. You will need to get any of the Heavensward Levequests in Foundation and then go initiate it. Randomly a blue chest will spawn in the general area that the levequest takes place when you initiate the quest and the blue chest will always contain a amber encased vilekin which is worth 1 Crystal Sand. You can opt to actually complete the levequest from there if you want, or once you get your treasure, you can abandon the quest and re-initiate it to do it again and look for another chest. This also applies if a chest does not spawn. I did about 60 of these on patch day and got roughly 15 crystal sands out of them. The whole thing only took me about an hour too.The 3.3 step in the anima is extremely confusing to me since I dont craft or gather. I don't know if someone mentioned it yet, but if you have buckets of ravana and bismark totems, you can trade them in for pally shields (3 totems) and get 1k seals each. It's a fair amount of running, but it turns a toxic asset into a relevant one.
Spend an hour using up your level allowances farming leves for treasure chests for Amber Encased Vilekin. It's a guaranteed drop from chests but the chests themselves are not guaranteed and are exchanged for sands at a 1:1 ratio. You don't need to complete the leve if the chest isn't there just abandon and re-try. I got 17 this way burning through 99 leves. The 3.3 step in the anima is extremely confusing to me since I dont craft or gather. This. I got 20. You can also buy thavnairan mist & the other thing for 40/50 poetics each. So 300 esos & 450 poetics get you 1 sand.Spend an hour using up your level allowances farming leves for treasure chests for Amber Encased Vilekin. For 3.3 step I'm levelling my crafters and all blue scrips are going for the weapon.
"BAAAAAARD!" - 2018

For me going through the botanist and mining blue nodes every cycle I can get 2 sands each time, so doesn't feel like it will be too bad.
As for umbrite, thats the slow grind aspect, currently at 24/240
I'm gonna do the 120 crit and 115 det (why on earth can't I take this to 120 to.)
Though it leaves me with 5 points that I won't know were to put.
