I'm having so much trouble getting the unidentified items. I have 0/7/1/20. Maybe I should figure out beast tribes to see if that will make it easier. Any tips are appreciated

I obtained my unidentified items primarily through beast tribe quests. In terms of time actively spent working vs tokens obtains, they're one of the most efficient methods. Each unidentified item is 13 tokens, which represents an average of 30-40 minutes of work (depending on how often you get Boar Wars and Quenching the Flame), so it's likely better than any of the roulettes, but probably worse than a lucky streak of hunts, carrying new players through unsynced level 50 content, or farming the easier turns of Gordias with a dedicated group.

They have the added bonus, post-3.2, of each quest also providing a Grade IV materia. They've come down a little in price now, but earlier in the patch it could easily be 200k+ gil per day from quests you were already doing if you're working toward the anima.

As far as the quests themselves go, if you're starting from scratch and working on all four tribes simultaneously, you can get all four of the relevant tribes up to Friendly (the point at which you can start accepting the quests that give the tokens for anima items) in 28 days:

• 10 days to get to Recognized (3 quests per day per tribe at 5 reputation each, with 150 reputation necessary to rank up)
• 17 days, plus 1 additional quest on the 18th day, to get to Friendly (3 quests per day per tribe at 7 reputation each, with 360 reputation necessary to rank up)

Im actually going to grind Gordias and do hunts to get them. Though you would need to do approx 200 Grodias each turn to get them, thats why I will do Hunts on the side too.

Are you doing it with a group or something? I tried doing gordias, but queues were always 30+ minutes. Even putting a '10 run for a U item" group in party finder yielded not even one person.

Just do Vath and Vanu. You'll be done with it by the time you get the old ones up high enough.

If you've not started any beast tribes (2.x or 3.x), this is accurate as long as you can complete your anima with fewer than 38 days of beast tribe quests or will end up requiring 14 or fewer unidentified items from beast tribe quests.

If you've already hit max rank with Vath and Vanu Vanu (i.e. you won't get the bonus dailies from rank up quests), but haven't started any 2.x beast tribes, this is accurate as long as you can complete your anima with fewer than 34 days of beast tribe quests or will end up requiring 10 or fewer unidentified items from beast tribe quests.

Otherwise you're better off starting two of the 2.x tribes to use your remaining daily allowances. Obviously the thresholds are even lower if you have started making progress with any of the 2.x beast tribes.

Finally, at the other end of the scale, if your anima will involve 60 or more days of beastman dailies, or you plan to get at least 24 of the unidentified items from beastman dailies, you're better off doing only 2.x beast tribes even if you're starting from scratch.

Finally ! 80/80 \(T)/ now need to gather all the crafting mats which I only have 8/20 at the moment... I found out the that alternate between Alexander Gordias, beast tribe quests, esoteric tomestones from dailies are best way to get unidentifiable ores and seeds. For the unidentifiable bones and shells, you could do MSQ roulette, beast tribes, and spam the hell out of CT. XD

Currently have my mch 230 relic 210 mnk and war weapon and a 170 nin weapon. With 26/80 unidentified items 16/16 crafted items and 1/5 aether oils.
