Relic: Your progress on the Grind.

I've just been casually working at it through beast tribes and turning in extra tomes from my usual roulettes--not going out of my way to farm any sort of content or do hunts. Sitting at 37/80 items and have yet to get the crafted items. I'll hopefully be done by the time 3.2 drops.

XX of 80... I really have no idea at this point. I buy a piece when I get close to capping and toss it in a retainer. I'm in no hurry to get it done, not particularly fond of such a massive grind so I am going to do my dailies and it happens when it happens. The biggest problem I see is that I can not afford the crafted items at this point.

If it had been released earlier or the grind was not as bad, I may have done it outright. I like to have relics on the three classes I play but the requirements for this relic felt like a 50,000 meter wall and I was like.... whelp, that's that...

The scale of the grind is also what prompted several people I know to check out, it was the straw that broke the camel's back.

I'm at 55/80 now, so the end is getting in sight. My budget is a million gil. Market board cost total: Roughly 2 mill (And that's already comparatively cheap...). Buying the mats seems cheaper, at least if you only need NQ mats, but even then I'd still need crafters who don't demand tips.

So yeah...chances are, I'm gonna let the mats rot on my retainer in the hopes the quest gets nerfed sometime down the road.

If past stages are any indication, the item portion won't really be nerfed directly. The items will probably become easier to make over time just through the addition of extra gear, though and increased supply will cause prices to lower. 2 million total sounds pretty nice, though, it was 8 or so on my server. ;;

Heh. And it's like 800-960k on the JP server(s?). So theoretically, I'd only need to transfer twice... (which sounds more appealing than it should >.>)

I crack it up to cultural differences. As for the nerf, the Zodiac needed only one of each item, so nerfing it would likely have been a bit complicated. More complicated than going into the editor and turning the 4 into a 3, 2 or 1 at least. Just let me be hopeful, will ya? >_>

I suppose that's true, though they're likely to just let "time" nerf it naturally through economics, as that means they don't have to make any coding changes (which can result in unforeseen problems).
