Yea one of the nice thing about FFXI was the relic you got in that game literly lasted you for 7-8 years so it was well worth the effort.

The biggest difference though was in ffxi it took 2 years to get enough currency to buy a stage 5 relic not two months. If ffxiv anima was as hard as ffxi's mythic, youd be beating alex savage 600 times, not alex normal. FFXI Mythic weapon required you to clear all the other endgame things multiple times like nyzul tower, einherjar, and salvage. Only the most dedicated/hardcore could get them.

YESSSSS! I retired FFXI in November 2011 when I got word that the game will no longer be accessed on Xbox 360. I retired with Corsair main with Death Penalty. NIN also had Relic and Empyrean. Took me three years to get NIN relic when the Linkshell leader let me get a shot at it since I was the /main assist for them from start to finish.

The biggest let down for me is all of the negativity from the community. As they say, misery loves company. All the negativity is affecting those of us that don't have much issue with it. If your feeling down, it gets us down. Chain reactions. I just want to play with my friends regardless of the content; but when my friends get bored I get bored. Cause weren't doing anything anymore. I'd rather be doing something then nothing, they would rather do nothing.

If I were to make a suggestion to SE:

1)It would be to make "Goodbye" category/directory in the forums so they wouldn't all go here and have threads that disobey get moved.
a)Just because a thread is about some player leaving, it doesn't mean any of us know who they are. I don't usually take the time to say goodbye to strangers. Are we supposed to get to know someone cause they decided to quit the game? If they are being honest, we will probably never see them again after today. Just saying. It's like obituaries in the paper. If someone dies it doesn't go on the front page unless they were murdered.

2)Add a "Suggestions" category to the forums.


Oh and I'm leaving the game if this doesn't happen.... I'm kidding. :P
Over like many years I've probably left 4 different MMOs for good. I didn't tell anyone except maybe a few friends. One of them the devs actually would come on the forums and directly talk to players and stuff. I made a few threads that they even commented on over the years. It would be a long shot, but there was a chance if I went on their forums, the devs may have actually responded to a goodbye post there. I still felt no need.

It's odd how people measure FFXIV to FFXI and WoW, when they don't realize WoW has been around for 10+ years, and FFXI had like 6 expansions. FFXIV is in the sophomore year, it is allowed to make mistakes to learn successes.

Edit: before the weebs say I'm white knighting, I did say FFXIV made mistakes, FFXI wasn't perfect (Abyssea) and WoW certainly isn't anymore.
