    Almost blind player seeking help from the community to have a chance to keep playing

    Hello all. Some of you might know me already, and if you don't: I'm almost blind IRL because of LCA (Lebers' Congenital Amaurosis) and up until now i've been able to play FF14 with time effort and help from everyone on the Goblin server. But now, with the release of patch 3.1, I've encountered a big issue. They changed the ground AoE animation warning and made it really too small for me. Now i understand that smaller means better graphics and looks nicer, but because of that change i'm now unable to efficiently avoid dangeours attacks and i'm becominga burden for any other players with me in the instances. My life, my friends and even my love is online and on this game so i want to keep playing, which is why i'm asking for help and support form players everywhere so they can take into consideration to revert the warning graphics to what they were or at least implement the option to chose between the 2.

    If it doesn't happen i won't be able to raid anymore, maybe not even run regular stuff. I worked hard on getting good in alex savage, i'm with 2 groups and even up to A3 despite my handicap and i don,t wanna lose it all. So please, if you can make your voice heard alongside mine so maybe they'll at least consider making a change soon, i would really appreciate it from the bottom of my heart.

    I also find the new AoE marker tricky to see, particularly when a lot ground abilities are present. An option to switch between the old and new versions would be great.

    Upvoted. I agree the usual orange markers for incoming attacks is harder to see at times. I don't understand the change at all and I don't quite care for it myself. Its little things like this that I'd wish they'd either give us an option to switch between the two, or just change it back full stop.

    As mentionned in the patch notes, it's been done to make the limits of the AoE easier to determine. I understand that some ppl might want them to be more defined so they don't get caught witn one foot in it when trying to dodge it while staying close, but reducint the entire animation itself is not the best way, it gets so small when the entire AoE'Ls area is small, the smaller the are, the smaller the lines. A1S was "ok" since i stacked with ppl and followed the cast bar on the focus target for resin bombs, but A2S i was a burden for my healers, with all the shadow flares and doton, and the mobs all over the place, they were just not visible with their small size. I really hope more ppl make their voices heard so maybe we have a chance to make it easier for everyone.

    I agree that they should have an option to revert the AoE Markers to how they used to be. I don't mind the new ones, but they are difficult to see on some fights.

    Perhaps a combination of both where you have the sharp edges but still the old bright orange middle could work?

    Just throwing my voice in to say that I noticed the new AOE ground indicators. While I like them, I can see how not having the option could be difficult for someone in the OP's position and it really should be something SE implements as a toggle/choice. They've made changed for color-blind people in the past so I think it should be relatively straightforward for SE to do this.

    For the sake of the OP and people in his position, please look into this SE.

    Throwing in my support as well for a choice between the two animation styles. This patch had so many great QoL additions, it's really unfortunate that this was a step in the opposite direction.

    I got you Dreki, one hundred percent support this, I've got decent vision and even I have trouble seeing the indicators. especially with areas with water physics going off.

    Also yeah, I agree, those ground aoes are really hard to spot, even for people who can see. It's really annoying.
