I don't mind a long, eye popping grind if the result isn't a standard issue ilvl requirement with a 2 month expiration date due to ilvl creep. The way relic is positioned in this game is not like FFXI where it is a true achievement that has real, lasting value. Instead, it's just an item with a slightly higher ilvl and loses value almost completely come an expansion. If Square wants to make long and difficult quests no problem. But make the reward something that stands out rather than an item that simply is par for the course on the current ilvl tier.

Where are the special effects? Wasn't it mentioned that we would see them back in the Zeta weapons? Here we are with 3.x and even the new relics are bland skins for ilvl 210.

I'm not angry about the fact that there's a grind, or how terrible it is, but really how boring the reward is. Has the dev team lost their creativity here? Maybe they don't have the crafting specialist skill to make these rewards more fun.
