Can't Boot the Game, get a Script Error

I have been playing FFXIV for 2 years now, and this is the first time i have seen this error.

i had a memory error on my Windows 8.1 system and repaired it..before that and now after it, i get this error when trying to log on:

the launcher window remains black whether i say yes or no and cant launch. i was able to launch nromally last night after the latest patch.

do have to delete the entire game and reinstall it? or is there a quick fix? thanks for help on this.

could be a bad cached file. The browser components used by the launcher are from MSIE, and it uses javascript and such. So, could try clearing the Windows browser and java caches. You can run inetcpl.cpl from the search/run box if you are using a different browser to clear the IE cache, and get to Java's through the control panel.

If it is still monkeying up, there might be something going on with the engine. Might be able to remedy that by updating Windows/IE through Windows Update, and the java over at java.com.

Just an afterthought... but since you were having issues at the system level, might be worth running a chkdsk as well:
