Let Calamity Salvager Sell Past Seasonal Furnishings?

Just a suggestion because I noticed I could re-obtain pretty much any past event item conceivable from the Calamity Salvager with participation in said event, but was really disappointed they do not offer past event furnishings. :c

Since they are not always available for NPC purchase at the next event cycle, nor in the Mogstation cash shop, it would be nice if we could obtain past seasonal event furnishings from the salvager.

(The specific event furnishings in question I am sad we can not seem to get back this year are the Christmas 2014 items i.e. holiday housing wallpaper, outdoor furnishings, empty twinkleboxes, etc.)

This would actually be a really good idea and I fully support it. I just hope that the community reps notice this or it gets a more responses from the community member base.

I agree, we need to be able to buy back seasonal furnishings, AND/OR give us seasonal storage for furnishings like we can store our seasonal gear.... I was very sad to see I could not get the items from last year, the FC leader cleared out of the furnishings part of the chest. Some of the items are now buy-able on the market board, so why not let us access them from the salvage NPC, if we have had them before. As it is, I have now had to PAY for another retainer to store FC furnishings... but I guess maybe that is why they do not?

Unfortunately we've been through this before. Given how furniture works in FFXIV it means that it would be sellable & tradable, something SE doesn't like when it comes to seasonal items as it cuts into Cash Shop profits. Ironically, due to the same reasons (tradable & sellable) they also can't be offered in the Cash Shop.

It's very annoying & they definitely should be available past the seasonal event. The best, & only reasonable, current solution would be for a "Weird Furniture Vendor" available somewhere that sells ALL past seasonal furniture for a reasonable price. That would prevent price gouging on the market board & allow everyone access.

Unfortunately they can't do that without removing the ability for FCs to decorate their houses. Imagine if only the FC Leader can decorate, fills the house with furniture then stops playing. The FC Lead passes on. The furniture is the original leaders as it's bound to them.... So nobody else can EVER move or remove it! Imagine the stink people would cause. That's not to mention that many houses & FCs have several players who can decorate.

In short, furniture can never be bound to a single character therefore it will always tradable be unless there's a major software rewrite.

You have no idea how many items from NPC vendors are scalped on the MBs do you?

I clearly remember that I wasnt able to sell certain pieces of (event) furniture (like the Qiqirn, if I'm not mistaken) during the event - it had to be patched later so those stuff could be sold. It was still tradable, but not sellable, apparently they were fine with it AND able to implement such a thing. And seeing how the PF works on my server it would be still sold, just without the MB if we could buy it back from the Vendor (please, SE - I'm already afraid of next years christmas - just took down the wallpaper ;_
