I been playing since the beta
And I haven't left a game to come to this.


I even asked the community if they think this game is worth the 15 dollar fee or not. The replies I got post that were more negative then approving of the fee. Also got called a doom post for asking all of the community it's feeling. Kinda funny how this place works.

Are you currently satisfied with FFXIV?
For the most part I can pretty satisfied with FFXIV, there are a lot of aspects I wish would change and the direction this game is going doesn't seem too promising.

How long have you been playing FFXIV?
I dabbled in 1.0 for quite some time but I didn't play full time until 2.0. I was apart of the 1.0 beta.

Did you leave any other MMO in order to play FFXIV, and if so, which?
I left FFXI, not because I wanted too, but because so many people had left and I didn't really want to rebuild a functioning LS on a game that was slowly dying out. I still play on occasion and still pay for my XI subscription. If XI was still as big as it use to be, I probably never would have left.

How Long have you been Playing:

Did the 2.0 open Beta, but didn't REALLY start playing till the next Christmas, roughly. A hair before patch 2.1.

Leave another game:

I play a Number of Free MMOs, SWTOR and DCUO among them. I suppose you could say I left them, though I'd stopped playing the latter a little while prior, and I occasionally get on the former. Not as often now though.

Well, enough to keep playing, for now, but I'm quickly getting worn out by the lack of worthwhile new content, or support for old content.

I've played MMOs for over 14 years. I was last playing and left TOR when a lot of people I knew and I were fed up with the developer stance on the game and player feedback. A friend of mine talked me into looking into FFXIV. One of the things I remembered was seeing Yoshi-p and team with their entirely different attitude from any MMO dev team I had previously seen. That was what hooked me. I'm not sure what changed behind the scenes, but (to me) it seems that they've deviated a lot from their "stance" (thanks to Yshnal for the images you were kind enough to post). A few pros and cons for me. Pros: the graphics are beautiful, there is a pretty solid balance to jobs, the combat mechanics and it's Final Fantasy. Cons: Recent trend in the style of grinding they've put in place (i.e. "new" relic quest), rate of older content being rendered practically useless when new hits, pvp, housing and Au-Ra having same or fewer customization options over the other races (after being implied early on that it was going to be a highly customizable race).

Disclaimer: This is my personal opinion. Take it as you will. Before people que in to my inclusion of grinds in cons, note bolded word for style. If I hated grinds in general, I wouldn't have played MMOs for over 14 years.

1.Yes, but I'm also having concerns of its future.
I'm still having fun playing this game with friends and the nice randoms I just meet on my server. There's also alot of things I have not done yet.

2. Since 2.3 I believe. I was stupid enough to decline a friend's request for me to join during the beta, now I play the game more than he does.

3. Not particularly. Wasn't a fan of MMOs but I revisited an MMO from my childhood for the nostalgia, but it shut down a while after, sadly. After that I tried out FFXIV.

1. Currently yes. They have clearly made mistakes since HW launch but as long as they manage their original cadence and move forward from this point Im pretty hopeful for the game.

2. Just over 12 months.

3. Left WoW about a month into WoD. Honestly probably won't go back for Legion. They make it look impressive on paper but then again they did that for WoD too. Plus I value story and narrative and blizzard can't keep their story straight at all, and story is one thing that HW has knocked out of the park so far.
